This is the main reason i stay away from the Swedish forum "sweclockers" because its just a bunch of crying kids there telling everyone who bought something they cant afford how silly, dumb and a waste of money it is.

I really hope this forum doesnt turn in to that.

Can't say I've seen much of that.... but please try flashback. People there tell you that you can buy a monster that can take everything for 5 years into the future without breaking a sweat for 8000 sek wink.gif

Have to agree with Bogga, that I haven't seen much about that. Needless to say Sweclockers is not as "evolved" in terms of overclocking as this forum is, and my personal opinion is that the "average" user here is much more tech-savvy than on sweclockers.

Most annoying thing there tho, is the constant AMD vs Nvidia fanboy battle where they just pour hatred over the brands without any coherent arguments.

Ontopic: My two EVGA SC cards are delayed by 12 days from EVGA, wth guys! I want to install my blocks. Everything else is set up and just waiting!

Off topic:
I went against my principles, and had a look in the 1080 thread over at sweclockers...right.
I saw that you Bogga had posted today about getting sli 1080 cards, and like a "letter in the mail" the very next message

I'm looking forward to DP 1.3 (or 1.4) 32"+ 4k screens with over 60hz. Maybe that Dell 30" 4k OLED will be released at some point. Nvidia has had one for testing for a few months.

New York City rent plus the spare cash to buy 4 1080s and big ass 4k screens.... must be nice rolleyes.gif

I can have an opinion on the matter just as anyone else can. Some people on here are so pathetic... I was simply saying 3/4 SLI is a big no for gaming. The cons outweigh the benefits. I wasn't telling anyone what they should do with their money so I don't know how you just assumed I was implying that.

I still stand by what I said, and have always believed in. Anything past 2 way SLI for gaming is just ridiculous. You'll have more disadvantages than benefits. More heat, more power withdrawal, and you'll be out of pocket by a huge amount to just "show off" but like I said, it's your money bud thumb.gif

You could set all those GPU's on fire and I couldn't care less because they aren't mine. I can have my opinion just like you can have yours... same with anyone else. Freedom of speech buddy. FYI I'm waiting for the aftermarket/non reference 1080's to then get rid of my 780 Classified. Till then I'll be wise with my money and stick to what I have smile.gif

4-way has it's benes, if you game at 4K and above, it is not overkill...if the game and NV can support it. Driver optimization for 4-way (and 3-way) gaming has been lacking since the release of Maxwell. This is driven by market segmentation, which has been declining in HEDT in general and more so at the 4 GPU level. I don;t know what business you are in, but chasing the "whales" out has it's consequences.
fercrissakes... if ya can't run with the big dogs, don't get off the porch.

The fact that he's given you examples of games that scale and let him max out (more than 3 games at that) their settings at 4K is enough for it to obviously be worth it to him.

It's ok to have an opinion, but you're speaking it as if it's gospel. He's water cooling them, and plus these cards are using ~200W a piece? That's only a bit more than some BIOS modded 2-way SLI 780s I've seen. You're literally at the point that you're making stuff up just to make him feel like he wasted money. There's plenty of reviews out that the scaling and benefits.

Since he's willing to drop the cash on the cards, and the time to tweak them to scale, what are you even mad for? Are you even planning to get a GTX 1080, or are you only here to troll and be green with envy?

nope, I was just voicing my opinion on the matter. I don't know why everyone's so mad. I simply just said 3/4 SLI is pointless for gaming and is a waste of money... at least for the majority of games out there. I'm not saying what he should do with his money or what to buy. It's his choice, he can do whatever he wants with it. I was just pointing out what I know. I'm not going to waste anymore time explaining myself time and time again. If you must know, yes, I'm planning to buy a 1080 as soon as the non-reference designs are released and the prices stabilise, since the FE Gpu's are a waste of money imo. Till then I'm sticking with my 780 classy.

You should stick with your 780 forever instead, so you dont spend money on new things. You know waste cash and all.

Go away you troll!

But he and others are basing their 'opinions' off of facts that are proven by reviews. And you gave cons that are deemed pretty much untrue here due to the circumstances. If you're not seeing how your tone is coming across, then I'm not sure what to tell ya.
