Hey I tried a heavens word benchmarkn (guessing an older once since I downloaded in sept/2015)

Msi 1080 gaming x
But I got a max of 80c/74% fan at 1440p.
1900s for the core clock

That's within the cards max temp right?

Just received my EK GTX 1080 copper/acrylic fullblock from Performance PC today. Was trying to snag a GTX 1080 from Newegg and I bought a Zotac GTX 1080 FE. I intend to put this new combo in my 5960x rig and move the GTX 980 TI SC with an EK fullblock over to my 4790k rig to replace 2 R9 290s.

I put one of the temp sensors from my aquaero right over the vrms and it hasnt gotten over 45C yet.

I have a full block coming in a couple of days but I may stay with this for now, tired of shelling out for a new block and backplate each time I buy a new gpu.

To make the Thermosphere work with the EVGA baseplate it has to be modded like this:

what modification is that? I would doubt that the FE baseplate is same as ACX baseplate

I currently have mine like this, not sure if the vrm is properly cool or not

As previously said, the Xtreme Gaming will be the premium version this time. It does look like the G1 is still a nice 'upgrade' over the reference/Founders option due to the extra power phases and supposedly quieter and more effective cooling solution.

I bought a G1 1080 which I'm very happy with - having an issue with one of the fans, though. Keep in mind this only seems to occur when it's on automatic and is stopping and starting with the "fan stop."

Basically the far right fan when spinning up is making quite a loud clicking or grinding sound, even in idle every now and again it will do it, the far left fan also spins (without noise) and the middle fan remains idle. It seems like it only makes the noise when running at a very low speed.

I've made a custom fan curve which seems to have remedied the problem, although would like to know whether this is common with cards with this "fan stop" feature? Still unsure whether I will need to RMA the card.

What sort of clocks are you guys seeing with your g1 gaming? Any coil whine at all?
