Just ordered the MSI aero with EK block and backplate. It was the cheapest card I could get with a 3 year warranty..

Does people see higher clocks on water, or is it like maxwell, minimal gains?

Where did you find the MSI Aero for sale?

What do you do if the MSI Aero has a "Warranty Void If Removed" sticker on it, which is the case for custom MSI cards? Then again I had a 7970 OC (kind of an equivalent of a 1080 Aero) which did not have one. If it has one, will you try to carefully remove it? I have managed to do so a few times with a sharp knife.

MSI does not void the warranty if you remove the sticker.

Wouldn't say maxwell saw minimal gains going from air to water from experience. The cooler the core and the vram the better.

Shunt mod?

But yeah, setting up more than one card with uniblocks can get a little "loopy" :

4x420 rad before aquarium chiller. I recently managed to come across a Koolance EXC-800 chiller... should be running that in a few days on a different rig. smile.gif

The Aero is up for preorder on overclockers.co.uk..

MSI warranty shouldn't be a problem https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=174490.0

Day 2 with my FE is all smooth sailings
  • Got EVGA Percison XOC 6.01 installed to mod fan curve, temp yet to go above 74C with new curve
  • Noticed some power perform cap, set Power slider to 120% in Percison XOC fixed that
  • enabled Fast sync in Control Panel, works great in Armored Warfare 4K, holds a comfortable 60 FPS at Ultra and only uses 1823mhz max

Can anyone comment on the strix with a 70% fan use how loud is the card and temperatures ?

My MSI X 1080 IS Silent with those settings gaming 8 hours 2150mhz@11000 around 69c max 71c sometimes seems pretty good to me.

Been waiting forever for a custom 1080 to come in stock. Got my order in got the Gigabyte G1 for $650, then Newegg cancelled it on me. Looks like I'll be waiting another month to try and catch it in stock again.
