There are at least 3 key parameters here once you get into the realm of synthetics and compute performance:
1. clock
2. architecture
3. CORE COUNT

You left out #3. the Ti has shown itself to be a formidable if not superior compare in openCL/CUDA land. So far people are hemming and hawing about driver and application maturity, but I wonder if in the end, the extra cores and the 980ti's overclockability are going to mean synthetics and computes will be equal or better served by the 980ti?

I get ~2G more memory for device memory, but jury is out on overall compute HP between those two - I'll know more in a few weeks I think, but others have already seen plenty to support what I said above. Pascal adds some great features for VR and is no slacker of a card, but it is not a "Ti" card. It is adequately gimped to give Nvidia room to justify whatever they charge there in 6ish months from now.

Agree with you guys.

That's why Nvidia said it is a 980 replacement, not 980Ti... xD

Both cards based on the Reference PCB

Could Somebody please upload the Bios of a EVGA GTX 1070 SC ?

Thank You.

Be careful with the fan-curve of the SC-bios.
The fan of the SC-card will turn on at ~60 degree.

Hey guys, so I've managed to pick up the EVGA hybrid kit for my 1070 FE and after testing and overclocking using unigine heaven I'm hitting around 2170 ish core clock, though it tends to stabilize around 2160 because of power throttling. Is there any list of the available custom bios for the 1070 with power limit increases or anything of the sort? This card definitely wants to go higher, but the power limit is keeping it at bay. Core temp stays below 47C and it's been whisper quiet, super happy with it so far.

Or any Strix bios that isn't FE really, I'd like to check them out as well. If someone has a Strix or Zotac card could you please upload it?

i am still testing busy with work at the moment ...

I can get stable thus far on the core about 2088 but seems to drop to 2065 core tmep at 65c

mem 450 so far but need to do more testing once i get the time

but i do get green perf power cap in gpuz

To add

i am still on the old bios as i wish to test this 1st before trying the new one from gigabyte but from what i have been reading the new bios only changes fan curves
