Aside from comparing the clock speeds, there's the fact that the additional power is going to result in less PWR throttling.

so We were lied to, they claimed it just defaulted to the software selectable OC mode but actually these cards are allowing more power than retail to cheat reviews.

Meanwhile reviewers act dumb and pretend they not aware.

Ok so.

My card is missing on vgabios page, I will upload the bios when I can, but wont be until I can shutdown my apps as the gpu driver needs to be unloaded.

Palit 1070 GameRock Premium.

Palit have set the limit to 170 watts on my card, there is easy headroom even with just the one 8 pin power connector, so I await the gui bios editor for good performance gains.

Bear in mind here is my thoughts.

1 - just bumping voltages without bumping TDP limit has limited benefit, voltages only need to be raised if the card is unstable, otherwise you just wasting heat and power, also I found when I had my 970 raising voltages in software is vastly inferior to fine tuning voltages in the bios editor. Software voltage management just seems to set a generic offset whilst the bios can set the voltage for each individual speed step.
2 - So based on what I said above the biggest way to bump max performance is increasing the TDP limit in bios, note the % power limit in stuff like afterburner is as a result not much of an indicator, e.g. my modded 970 bios with a 270 watt limit, maxed out at 100% in afterburner as I set default to same as max, whilst the default bios allowed raising to 110%, but 110% on the default bios was only 185 watts.

Thankfully I seem to have a reasonable chip this time round so I have no urgent need to mod my bios, whilst my 970 was a terrible chip.

Also i emailed palit asking for a bios with boosted TDP, whilst everything else kept the same. They will probably say no, but it doesnt harm to ask.

Anyone tried flashing some other BIOS onto Gigabyte 1070 WF OC?

Reviewers would have had literally zero idea what the power limit of the cards are. They see the same percentage value as we see in Afterburner, XOC, etc, but there is no way without viewing the hex code of the BIOS to know the actual wattage limit.

Meanwhile my stock SLI 1080 outperform my SLi 98ti lightning (1400MHz+ factory OC'd) in FPS in 4k-utlra BF4 by about 10%. biggrin.gifthumb.gif

Here's a 1070 FTW BIOS if anyone needs one: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B64kGVYfLeQZN2w1Y3BQa1FUTW8
And the second BIOS: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B64kGVYfLeQZUFVyNFdIcDJSanc

MD5 don't match, wondering what the difference is - can't see one myself.

Currently at +125/+680, but the card will do 2278MHz if I use manual voltage curve... just gets less performance, even without throttling.

Any predictions to the success of flashing this 1070 FTW bios to a 1070 SC? This would be 210W TDP over a single 8-pin - nice boost over 170 W if it was successful.

A single 8 pin connector is capable of a minimum of 206 watts per the specs from Molex, and up to around 300 watts total. As long as your power supply is good enough, it's more than fine.

FTW is non reference, so expect a brick if flashing to SC

This guy flashed my FTW BIOS onto his card and it seems to work.

That said.... no guarantees.
