Yes that's all we need...BTW your card looks out of this world 2164/10000 grats on the silicon lottery win thumb.gif
Tried the Palit BIOS also and over-voltage in Thunder...does nothing to me.
As for the comparison it's not needed I made it myself on my system and all but except BIOS were different GB and Zotac - in conclusion Zotac is slower clock for clock for some reason take a look at my next post also...and unfortunately it doesn't help with the OC neither on the core nor the memory...maybe with such high limit will remain as you sad for constant frequency during high load scenarios as FSU bench does on 4k

Apparently its not a news cause only Micron makes GDDR5X for now you can see for your self go check all the bios details in techpowerup database or just type in google 1080 gpu-z and go to images all cards use micron and its not bad memory just has a limit for overclock set by nvidia probably because 1x8 pin but even non-reference cards with 2x8 pin are not doing any better maybe cause it new memory thats why its limited for overclock and nvidia focused on gpu oc

that's a very unsafe assumption. you may be drawing out a consensus based on what you are seeing but to me, it boggles my mind that Samsung or Hynix isn't dabbling in GDDR5X. it'll be interesting to see if the new Titan X's have Micron memory or not.

It isn't an assumption, it's a fact. SK Hynix and Samsung aren't bothering with GDDR5X and are instead ramping up HBM2 production. Try googling SK Hynix GDDR5X or Samsung GDDR5X and you'll see that they aren't producing any.

hello, does anyone has got an asus turbo 1070 or msi aero 1070bios. i think they has got an higher pt than the fe bios files. i want to flash my evga 1070fe but with a normal custom bios, the fan is only on 2000 rpm ( gamerock)

So guys whats going on with bioses?
Is there any recommended bios for FE 1080?

I put my card under water. Ek block and backplate.
Used liquid metal on the core and fujipoly 17w/mK on vrms.
My card runs at 33-34C under load with water temp of 25C.
2202MHz is stable... 2215MHz crashes.
I also did tdp mod. No more throttling or fluctuations...just pure line of mhz and volts (1.094v).

Is there any bios that makes FE 1080 any better?asus strix OC bios?

Thanks

No one tried yet a better bios with higher TDP limit on EVGA GTX 1070 SC ACX?

Micron is the one who created the GDDR5X spec, and they are the only ones producing it right now. I doubt Samsung or Hynix will ever bother getting into the production of it because as others have said, they are ramping HBM2. Micron on the other hand is not yet in production of HBM2 so once that spec takes off Micron will be left out in the cold. The reason being I think that Hynix and Samsung both backed HBM, while Micron tried to develop their own HMC tech, which failed because it is/was much harder to implement in the real world. Who knows, maybe someday we will see it and Micron will be top dog of stacked/3d memory again.
