yeah it's a bummer seeing it and actually having to deal with it. at least this is at work. my amp extreme has samsung thank god

My FTW overclocks great on the memory, I have it at +555 and could probably push it farther but have not even bothered to try, how can I tell what memory I have on my card other then just pulling the heatsink off.

Download GPU-Z from techpowerup

I did not realize GPU-Z had that info, I always have it open monitoring things haha. I guess I have Micron, but its OCing great.

Thanks for the tip dude!

Is there a trick to getting GPU-z to rip the bios, cause I have not been able to get it to work with my 1080 like I used to with my 980 Ti Classy.

The new version 1.9.0 works

Awesome, I guess I just had bad luck last time as it crashed out after it disabled the display adapter, worked like a charm this time!

Thanks dude!

What 1080 do you have

I doubt Samsung or Hynix will ever bother getting into the production of it because as others have said, they are ramping HBM2. Micron on the other hand is not yet in production of HBM2 so once that spec takes off Micron will be left out in the cold. The reason being I think that Hynix and Samsung both backed HBM, while Micron tried to develop their own HMC tech, which failed because it is/was much harder to implement in the real world. Who knows, maybe someday we will see it and Micron will be top dog of stacked/3d memory again.

the more you know. well I appreciate the info, guys. at least normal GDDR5 memory can oc very nicely to catch up in terms of speed to GDDR5X - or at least try.

I definitely feel like you can push it further. I have OC'd my Amp Extreme memory to +800 for benchmarks. It'll artifact slightly, so I keep it at +700. try getting that slider up some more. the FTW overclocks very nicely as i've seen from other owners on here. and you can tell who makes the memory for your card on gpu-z.

Just so everyone is 100% about it, here is a picture I literally just took of my Titan X with Micron GDDR5X memory

Hopefully you can read what is on the ICs. Lol. Ill try and clean it up on a PC later. Thats just a pic from my smartphone

Is there anyone working on Pascal Bios Tweaker?

If it were possible to get the source code of Maxwell Bios Tweaker, would help in development of Pascal Bios Tweaker?

Thanks

FWIW cross flashing strix1080xoc to my Galax FE resulted in
  1. Slower max fan 3600vs4000
  2. TDP adjustment and temperature grayed out.
  3. No power limiting.
  4. Voltage increase to 1.2V from 1.093V
  5. Higher achievable clocks with 1.2V
  6. Lower Video clock than FE.

Worked okay with GALAX FE HDMI connector, don't know if it will work with your card or brick.

The fan and power limiting are probably not of interest to you, power did help my card however achieve 8000+ for furmark P1080. Other scores where only slightly better so not so great for me with the fan running 90%. The voltage limit was said to be 1.24V although my card hit VOp in GPU-z at 1.2V. Perhaps the extra voltage might get you 2.3GHz, idk. Me having to use an extra 0.2V for 10% increase in clocks doesn't make it seem that worthwhile. YMMV

What Video clock do you get with 2200MHz clock?
