Ok nice. This is what I was talking about!

But the question is..... is this bios rly bringing more performance or just higher clocks and volts ?

Some ppl have said that already that its just "visual" and you are not rly getting 2300MHz performance but rather 2100MHz(just an example).

Pls test and report back. Compare with stock max clock bios vs this one. thumb.gif

I have not done any flashing on my FTW but I am tempted to test out a Strix OC bios just to see what happens, maybe later tonight I will mess with it.

@juniordnz did you get your FTW today?

No, I did not =( it will be delivered in my local dealer only on monday. I was so sure I would spend the weekend playing with my new toy...

Guys, I need help.. I asked in the 1080 Owners thread, but haven't been getting any replies.

I recently pulled the trigger on a PNY branded GTX 1080 (only one in stock) and for some reason, when I boot my computer, it keeps showing a PNY splash screen. I wouldn't really care too much except for the fact that it's loading before my keyboard and mouse and causing my keyboard to not power up in time for me to get into my motherboard's bios. (I have a backlit Max Keyboard Blackbird)

I'm sure it's just because of PNY enabled the GPU's splash screen (for some odd reason) and I want to know if I can SAFELY flash another brand's Founder's Edition bios? Like an EVGA?

Thanks for ANY help or guidance y'all.

Bummer man, I hate getting all excited to mess with something and then having it delayed, its the worst!

I ended up flashing my FTW to the Strix OC BIOS and it is showing a higher power limit, but my clocks are still about the same, maybe just a little higher then before. I did forget to backup my master BIOS on my card though before flashing over it. So it works, gives more power, but nothing really groundbreaking.

If anybody can rip the master bios off of the EVGA 1080 FTW card and upload it, I would greatly appreciate it!

Yeah man, so much frustration...but it's not that bad, I still got my MSI to play over the weekend.

I would consider myself very happy to get 2100/11000 stable on air with my FTW. Later on I plan to hook up an AIO, probably a H105, to it to keep the temps below 50 (hopefully below 45).

How's yours treating you? What are you getting out of it on air? As soon as I get my hand on it I'll upload the master bios for you if no one helps until then. (also because I like keeping a backup of the original BIOS).

Mine has been good and getting speeds right around there on air, with my stock slave bios I get 2088 stable with 11340 on memory (Still think I can push the memory more) and then with the Strix OC (I think I need to double check the source I got this one from) I am getting 2100 stable with 11340 on memory as well and the voltage does go higher as the temperature rises. The fans go over 1000RPM higher with the Strix OC BIOS.

I totally flailed with backing up my master BIOS, I have a backup of the slave one and totally spaced before I flashed, I wanted to compare the master and slave with hex and see what the differences are so we could at least try to hammer down the power limit locations in these bioses, but from what I have been reading even if we make hex changes to the BIOS it will not allow us to flash it to our cards, is that correct?
