Just have in mind this "Memory Support
GDDR5X, Micron"
While flashed on Samsung memory will highly restrict the overclocking abilities smile.gif)

My MSI 1080 Gaming X have GDDR5X, Micron, the same of the Gaming Z, so i think that will not be any problem
But thanks for the warning

I just tried evga SC. Not good bios. Lower scores at the sake clocks as on srock bios.

I also tried stock nvidia bios abd its actually better than my stock palit FE bios.
Testing strix t4 now

Apparently you did get the memo. nVidia did away with Enthusiasts Key and drop 3/4 all together

when i posted that, they hadn't changed the policy yet mr necro smile.gif Hell, i don't even have 1080s anymore. smile.gif

Gaming Z bat file has been shared by @tin0 at owner's club. I used the gaming X bat file from msi website. Will try this after work.

Edit: gaming Z OC bios(1772 core) boosted to 2012 Then 2000 Then driver crash. Not stable. Flashed to gaming Z default bios(1733 core) and it's stable so far. Boosted to 1975 Then 1962 then 1949 sustained.

I think you may be confusing the memory installed in the 1080 and 1070.

All 1080s have Micron GDDR5X memory. Micron is the only company to make GDDR5X memory.

The Samsung GDDR5 Memory is the memory installed on most GTX 1070s and they seem to be using the 86.04.1E.XX range of bioses.

However, there are also a minority of GTX 1070s that have Micron GDDR5 memory installed. The earliest MSI Gaming and Gaming X 1070s made in June 2016 have Samsung memory installed and use the 86.04.1e.40/41 bioses but the batch made in early-mid July have Micron memory installed and have a 86.04.26.XX range bios installed. I have noticed that there are also some Micron Memory Palit and Gainward 1070 cards around as well

I have one of the Micron memory Gaming X 1070s and would love to play with some bios swaps but as I have not heard of anyone trying it out yet and talking about it, I am not prepared to experiment with my only decent graphics card by trying to flash my micron card with a Samsung bios.
