Woow, too bad pascal will probably not get a bios tweaker...

The cards scream for a bios tweaker, i am sure they can get 2.2ghz with modded bios, stable no throttle.

@Laithan

So instead of encrypting the BIOS nvidia just encrypt the flashing process? Akin to secure flash on some computers?

No, we can flash right now.. that's not a problem.. Editing the BIOS is (or even VIEWING BIOS values) is the issue. frown.gif

I tried comparing the values between the Reference BIOS and the EVGA SC bios with a hex editor and there are only 10 or so values that are different between them however I have no idea how to identify what the values do.

Look at offset 0x0002E79A. It will suprise you biggrin.gif.
I do not own the card to test but IMO this offset holds values for minimal (1100 in FE) and maximal (4000 in FE) RPMs. Then if you look into EVGA bios those values match this card: 0 and 3000!

At offset 0X0002E7C2 is a sequence of values which looks like fan profile. For FE BIOS it is: 1100, 2640, 2200, 2880, 3700. For EVGA SC BIOS it is: 0, 2560, 1600, 2880, 3000.
Values 2640, 2560, 2880 mean something different than RPM - temperatures?. If you could tell what are your temperatures at 1100, 2200 and 3700 RPM I might know more.

Still, as far as I know, a working modified flash tool is needed to flash any hex edited bios.

I successfully edited the SC BIOS to allow up to 4000 RPM, however you are correct. I tried all the versions of nvflash I could find and they all gave me the following error:

These exact same versions I tried all allowed me to flash the SC BIOS without modification.

Looks like editing the BIOS will be the easy part. We just need to hold out to see if it's possible for JoeDirt to bypass nvflash checks.
