[HELP] Club 3D R9 290 Royal Queen crash Directx / yet open gl works fine..

Good day fine folks on Oc.net!

I sold my GTX980 a few days back and loaning a 290 from a friend who deals in hardware for 3-4 weeks or so until I can get my hand on Pascal.

Thing is, this card is crashing whenever I'm trying to play a game or launching a benchmark that uses DirectX!

Uni-engine Heaven in open gl works fine but Directx9/11 crashes.. seems to me that it somehow is software related instead.

I tried clean driver removal in safe mode for Nvidia/Intel and AMD drivers from my system and installed AMD drivers a few different times.

Used PCI-E slot #2 instead of #1 but no difference.

I cannot find any good information on Directx however it seems as it comes by the OS by default these days and it already says I have the latest version installed.

What should I do?

Uninstall driver with DDU and try 16.4 drivers or newer or try a clean install of windows

Did DDU and such no effect, hope not that I have to try reinstall but I could.

EDIT: turned out my PSU was the culprit, apparently it's not enough wattage.. eh-smiley.gif

Anyway it ran fine on my friends' 1200 PSU redface.gif

Currently using GTX 1070 FE anyway.. it's not as silly in the power department!
