It's an Acer XB270HU that I received re-certified for $355 with free shipping and no tax. It actually has the new firmware so it can OC to 160hz and it looks perfect except this:

I actually ordered two of these and the other one had a ton of dead pixels or looks like a hair in the middle of the screen and was still on the old firmware/old panel. This one seems to have this "dirt" or something to the middle left of the screen but other wise its a perfect display that can OC to 160hz that I got for $355 which is pretty much half the price of one of these.
Now I just don't know what to do, I already tried 2 monitors from Acer re-certified and if I was going to return both I'd have to spend almost double to get a new one.
Re-certified = customer returned due to defects + Acer too lazy to care about it + re-package and re-sell. Get what you pay for with this monitor. I would no way keep that one.
You have an IPS panel. You have 160hz. You have 1440p. You have GSYNC. And you have some specks of dust between panel protection and LED emitters. Those aren't dead pixels.
Like Hell I would return such an opportunitty for 3 specks of dust. Sadly, almost every monitor develops a bit of dust after some time(looking at you, speck of dust in the middle of my screen
). No monitor is perfect, if you cave in and return and pruchase a new one, you'll probably receive one with dead pixels, or even more dust, or some sort of bleeding, etc.
you can take a small suction cup and suck it just under the spec and carefully pull and see if the spec will fall. had that happen to my tv where a gnat got in there and was able to remove it that way.
Acer is offering to take it back for free usually within the 14 day period. I RMAed the other one for a ton of dead pixels in the center and they gave me an RMA # with a shipping label.
After I got burned on an Acer desktop (and the included lackluster keyboard and garbage mouse) and a couple of netbooks (I got all three within a short period of time; the problems showed up later), there is no way I will own anything from Acer ever again unless it was for target practice.

Small wonder manufacturers put out such garbage when people like you are willing to tolerate it. Even if something is a refurb, it should still be like new in quality with no dead/stuck pixels and dust between the screen itself and the protective panel.
I've never had dust get inside the display of a monitor. If I did and it was still under warranty, I definitely would return it. I did get three stuck pixels on a new ASUS VG248QE (I was able to unstick two of them and the third one is near the edge at the top where it rarely shows). The only reason I accepted that was I knew upfront before buying that ASUS will replace a monitor under warranty only if it has more than four or five (don't remember which) stuck or dead pixels.
I ended up ordering a refurbished Dell S2716DG for $356 so I'll be requesting an RMA on this one due to the "dust" in the middle. Rather take my chance on the Dell TN than deal with this with the Acer.
Some people say that dust under the screen can burn up. I'd run the screen 24/7 until a week before the return window is up and see if they go away. If not then return it. Though Sub-$400 for a screen that is perfect other then some dust specs you had to search for is a good deal. I wouldn't sell my XB270HU for anyway near that price. Though used transfer the full warranty.

I'll try it. Have 14 days to return, got it on Saturday but now have the Dell S2716DG on order for the same price refurbished so going to try my luck with that.

Worth checking out both side by side if possible. Should be interesting to hear what you think about a TN vs IPS Gsync monitor in direct comparison. Guessing it's going to largely depend on content ran.
