That would put it as having as much FLOPS as the Titan X. Point was that FLOPS on themselves don't say much.

GTX 1060 too I am sure. Looks like Vega 10 is 1070/1080 competitor. Probably hit right in the middle performance and price wise.

Hold your horses. "sweetspot" may be revealing that they probably have a higher-tier, more expensive videocard.

what market is that and why is RX480 being compared to 2 year old gtx 970/980? unless it's priced under $200 then it makes sense i guess, otherwise 1070 make this gpu irrelevant.

And this "Sweetspot" is?

If that GPU is $250, I'm buying one. Although it's also tempting to wait for Vega...

Well, the 980ti does around 6.5 so already I am disappointed. Oh man, I have this really sinking feeling about tonight.

More in line with my predictions, 480x, above 980 performance for 250$, 480, below 980 performance for 200$

P11 cards will most likely be 360/750 Ti tier cards with performance probably just below the 380x for 150$ and around 370x for 100$, they're of course mobile-tier chips 470m or something.. apple will probably use them

That seems reasonable considering the 1070 is 429$ atm, and 350$ in the future. If I were AMD I would be rushing the hell out of Vega, I know Nvidia is rushing the 1060 out.

Usually "Sweetspot" refers to a product that gives you good value per dollar, or just good enough features.

What did NVidia compare their new cards to? Previous generation cards in order to be able to gauge the performance jump. Obviously the 480 isn't aimed at the gtx 1070 or 1080 so it would be pretty dumb to compare it against them, wouldn't it?

They have stated mid range market, that is a pretty broad term.

The person I replied to thought the world had ended because it wasn't going to match a 980ti lol.

The 1070 isn't mid range it's high end.
