It says 4th gen in that image which is gcn 1.4 I think, but they've changed the naming structure from 1.4 to 4

GCN 1.x was never official.

AMD was always 1.0, 2.0, and 3.0. we just made up the 1.0,1.1 and 1.2 ourselves due to lack of substantial performance gains

I hope it is a great card. Dying for an upgrade from a 7850 2GB. Heck, I haven't updated my sig rig in forever! Maybe when I get a new card.

I know that feel.

And I only feel the need to upgrade because I got the Korean monitor.

That brings me to another topic: Will 1080 and Polaris cards have DVI-D?

Was more saying because this is the first major revision to GCN outside of updating instruction sets and adding utilities. Would be 1.3, I think the "generation" nomenclature more refers to the cards as this is the 4th generation of cards to use GCN (southern islands, sea islands, volcanic islands, and now arctic islands)

It probably will have one, Even they Fury cards had one. So I would think that they would keep one on their newer mainstream. Since Alot of people in mainstream still use DVI even though it is mad old.

I too am using an hd7850 2gb. Still on a 900p monitor too. Performance wise I'm not satisfied, but it's not bad. main reason I'm itching to upgrade is because my card is falling apart. Have to underclock vram or it crashes during gaming, and a while back the fan died and had to fashion an Intel cpu cooler fan onto it with zip ties.
