Linking the picture is one thing.

http://videocardz.com/60762/asus-announces-rog-strix-geforce-gtx-1070

Linking an article with information is another.

Kind of redundant to do that if they both contain the same info.

Not really, pretty much all of the information on Asus' sight is in my link, it just doesn't have the fancy flashy pictures with it. Which is not information just showy. Try actually reading next time.

You already have one, check under your chair!!!

If the claim of 1885Mhz is true though that would put the 1070 at a significantly better OC rate than the 1080, as well as just as good of a card as the 1080 when properly OC'd. This makes the 1080 look like trash honestly.

If this price point and performance is true i see no reason not to ditch my 290 for a 1070. Im really looking to gain a 60fps lock in project cars and the division which i play heavily at the moment. My 290 is definitely having problems in some places in the division. Would i be crazy upgrading to a 1070 from a ref 290x. Im thinking no.

I also have no problem swinging a 1080 as i usually buy the best available outside of super enthus like a titan but everything im reading puts the 1080 as extreme overkill for a 1080p setup. I will upgrade my whole system when a good 4k oled comes out so im not looking for a long term solution here just something thats going to ensure max 1080p for the next year, which my 290x seems to be teetering out at now.

Sounds like a good plan. The upside is that by the time you are ready to upgrade to 4k the new ($400) x70 will be as fast as ($800+) "big" pascal, which should mean it will be pretty solid for single card 4k.
