Really? All we know about the 480 is that a crossfire (with the 4GB memory option @ $199) reaches the stock 1080 in a (totally useless) benchmark: Ashes of the Singularity. I have not seen anything else yet, if you have more info I'd surely like to have a look at it for a better comparison.

The 8GB version costs $249, and you can be sure that AIB will surely charge more for custom models (just like it happens with nVidia).

The 980 Ti g1 is 60-75% (depending on the game) faster than my 970 g1 @ stock clocks, but im sure when both are OCed they'll still stay around that same performance gap. Now the 980 Ti is $639 at this moment, and the 1070s will be coming in at $400 for AIBs and have the performance of a 980 Ti, so we're still looking at that big 60-75% performance increase over a 970 for $200-250 less than a 980 Ti. How is that not a good deal?

Are you reading the same information I am?

The 1080 is not a good value unless you need a halo product. OCed vs OCed, it is not the significant improvement over the 980TI that we were expecting, certainly not for the $610 or so (AIB pricing) that was released. Paying $699 is definitely insane.

Used 980Tis are already at $400, $425 and $450, so the market has already adjusted quickly.

The reason people like the 1070 is not just the price, but despite the cut-down, its performance is close to a stock 980Ti.
I expect eVGA will have a default ACX version at $389, while the MSI Gaming version may be closer to say $429.
Improved power efficiency is also a great benefit.

Because chips will be more and more expensive if this continues, and very different from 95% of historical chip price development. It used to be much better.

$399 wouldn't be bad, my 970 g1's were $369. I would expect $409-$429 for the top end 1070's. I wonder if it will be like the 1080's and not really make a difference which one you buy, all get the same clocks.

I am waiting for this as well, and I am assuming the answer is no. The 1080 AIB's aren't even out yet and it was released a few days ago. I read a rumor that the 1080s will be out tomorrow the 4th but I don't know if that is true or not. If the AIB's came out on the same day as the founders edition no one would spend the extra money for it. My guess is we will get the AIB 1070s late June but I could be wrong.

Rather devilishly my monitor can oc to 72 hz and i do not want to do the compromises the reviewers do. In GTA 5 i want pccs shadows and fps>60. Maybe with oc it is possible with 1070 - I will follow reviews closely :glasses I may have to settle on 66hz.

If this is timed exactly the same day the June 29 NDA expires, I'm going to laugh.
Same thing happened with the 1070 info being released, a day before the Computex keynote.

I got my MSI 970 Gaming cheep(demo version) for 292 dollars (without VAT) so it make it look worse :p

I have sold it, to force myself to take s summer brake from gaming, so i better can deal with my health(tension).Because of summer holidays i can wait to September. Probably should wait till October if Vega should launch with BF1, but probably cant :o
