the 980Ti will get truly desperate when they get an Oculus/Vive and have nowhere near 1070 VR performance

Im glad to still see the 960 benchmarked n compared.

Ive got my gtx oc'd high with good temps and awesome performance.

It plays dirt3 at good rates. It plays cod4,waw,cs:go,cod2@333fps@1080p@144hz@24".

Its still awesome card, no need to upgrade for me.

Same as my cpu, still rocking a delidded overclock i7-3770k@4.5ghz with small bus overclock.

My machine is still a beast all wrapped in a 750d.

Rocking 1080P is fine for 960 good high performance in most games.

idk, Kinect and motion controls was a "fad"

VR is here to stay I think (entirely new experience + already 3 major releases of VR helms), atlthough how fast it is adopted and into what it morphs is another matter

No one in high end pc gaming is going to give a rats ass about power draw and 100% fan speeds...... Yeah right maybe on the reference cooler. My G1 sits at 1560mhz core 8000mhz mem on a modded non throttling bios all day long and stays at a cool 66c with the fan speed no where near 100%.
Enjoy your "at best" side grade.
yeah that's right, that's why everyone is waiting for AIB and we get endless comparisons between them. cause noone gives a rats ass about 100% fan speed. rolleyes.gif
your 980Ti is hot, noisy and dumps as much heat as two 1070s.All to prove that it's 3 fps faster than oc'd 1070.

if nvidia doesn't neglect maxwell, then 980ti users shouldn't have to worry. But unfortunately that'll not happen, 1070 will smoke 980ti which each driver releases. Look at what happened to the poor 780ti against 970.

No, it is a side grade "at minimum". We know the performance is equal while power usage is nearly half. The 1070 has support for Nvidias latest tech and will be getting better with time. The 980ti is on it's way out, it's not likely to get much better than it is right now but it's value is steadily falling. If you can replace it for free, why not? Only an idiot would hang on to their 980ti if they could sell it for more than the cost of a 1070.

It is the only logical conclusion. The 980ti has been getting optimizations for a year now and can barely keep up with the 1070, once the 1070 begins getting optimizations it will start to put some space between itself and the 980ti. The two cards are on what is essentially the same architecture though, so the optimizations should carry over between the two.

Yes my G1 at a quiet 50% fan speed at 1560mhz core with 66c load temps is hot and noisy. rolleyes.gif Power draw...... not worried with that as are most gamers who can afford the yearly $10.00 increase in their electric bill.
lol 1560/8000 with modded bios and 50% fan speed at 66 degrees.
maybe you had a shred of credibility up until this point, but it's gone.
I had a 980 G1 and it needed 70% fan to run 70 degrees in the summer, with out of the box 1390MHz.

well said.
it's not like I jumped the gun, I did give it a proper consideration.
wrote a bit about it earlier.
