-it's not gonna cost me a dime extra
-the summer is coming, I may appreciate a cooler card with less power draw
-pascal will get better support now, especially for the upcoming titles
-I expect to have better performance with that 1070. My 980Ti clocked to 1.51GHz, but I didn't run it 24/7 at those speeds, cause they required 100% fan. I ran it at 1.35GHz cause that's what I could do with 70-75% fan. If I can do 2050MHz at 70% on 1070 Gaming that's gonna be more fps on the new card.
-last but not least, 1070 is gonna have a better resale value in q1 2017 than my 980Ti

please feel free to comment on that, both positive and negative input is appreciated.

your comments are valid - makes me laugh when others talk about there oc 980ti, yes oc at the cost heat and extra watts. Not knocking the 980ti, i have owned one. My next card needs to have better thermals. The case i use needs to have the side panel off when playing games. Sold the 980ti and the 970, gonna take time deciding my next gpu. Could be the 1070 biggrin.gif

I think you should move ON i was not talking about one deal or your deal to be specific.

Bu i can also give you a valid example in some countries in Europe the TI nearly 800 euros and stable around 750 euros right now they are worth around 400 second hand and no one is buying! why would the trade that for a 1070 witch will launch around 500 euros

i cant really paint you a picture dont know how to draw biggrin.gifthumb.gif

so your point is 8800 Ultra is still worth that $800 as long as you haven't sold it or don't know what it's selling for ATM ?
the fact that I was able to buy a 500 eur card for 400 eur (you named it) and still saved enough for a crate of beer I would consider a pragmatic deal.

Wrong my point is selling a full priced paid TI to get a 1070 you will loose money are there is nothing you can do about it...

that'd be true if I wasn't upgrading that card.
I'd be able to sell 1070 for a little more than 980ti (probably) next year, and there's $50 in my pocket for the 980ti -> 1070 deal.
you still think this is somehow bad and I shouldve stuck to 980ti.

I think your rationale makes perfect sense.

I sold my 980Ti with EK block for 650€ When the first rumors of dates apeared. Runing a 750Ti since april first week waiting for the 1070/480 release. One of them for the waiting until big chips arrive
