[Various] GTX 1070 reviews - Page 97

Is it worth updating from my 290x to 1070 or to 1080. I upgrade once every 2-3 years and atm im on a 144hz 1080 monitor.

For $609?! I'm not currently looking to get one thankfully, but that price is outrageous for a 1070!

It's pretty pathetic that people have nothing better to do than write bad reviews on Amazon for the FE card that they have no intention of buying.

Lool,talk about mixing hobbies:rolleyes:
One tab this 1070 https://www.amazon.co.uk/MSI-Geforce-GTX-1070-Graphics/dp/B01GRCYPE6/ref=pd_sim_sbs_147_4?ie=UTF8&dpID=51erfwHpntL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR160%2C160_&refRID=8SQX5V24JVBQ3VT2GHHV

ans the other chord mojo at 399 pounds.Audiophilia won this time,it would be a harder battle if this msi was 80 pounds less biggrin.gif

Whew, that was pretty quick then. $449 is still too much for me for a 1070. I plan to keep my 970 for a good while longer, then may go with a 1070 if/when the price falls to about $350-$360.

I doubt that will be a problem. I am leaning towards a 1080 for my 1440p screen but I plan to switch to 1440p ultra wide when we get some higher refresh rate ultra wides so I am wanting the extra headroom.

I really don't want to spend the extra money on the 1080 but I could. As dumb as this sounds I think I am going to buy whichever Gigabyte G1 version comes in stock on Newegg first. I am pretty set on the G1. Every video card I have had that wasn't Gigabyte was either loud or failed. I feel like if I get anything else I won't be completely satisfied with it.

its not overkill, but its not worth it either, perf per $ of GTX1080 is much worse than that of GTX1070.
