iMac, no choice is easier

As a long time iMac user I am jumping ship. With iMacs you get what they give you and thats that. Now with the world of Windows I have choices. Trouble is I don't know what i am doing. I bought 2 monitors. A Samsung 4K 28" U28E590D for $500 and a Asus MX279H for $330. I bought the Samsung because 4K sounded good to me. But then a friend said, its a TN panel and not good for what i like to do - photography. So I did a bit of searching and found the Asus thats IPS but not 4K. Money is a issue and the $500 was at the absolute top end of my budget. Plug both in and see which one is better? Well I don't actually have a Windows machine yet. My son in law is building me one. It will have a GTX 960 2GB video card if that means anything. I'm at a point where I have to return one of them. Im leaning towards keeping the Asus and using the difference in price to buy a years worth of PS and Lightroom. But if the 4K is better then Ill keep it. I just have no idea really. Any help would be great, thank you so much.

Stick with the Asus IPS panel and sell the Samsung. Also if you plan on going with 4K in the future then you may need more than 2GB of VRAM, depending on what you use the machine for.

Samsung U28E590D is a bad choice for photo and should go back.
Asus MX279H is good, but should also go back.

2560x1440 IPS is the best for photo usage, to give you more screen area to work with.
As for the GTX960 2gb is is plenty for 4k if all you do is work and no gaming.

BenQ GW2765HT or ASUS PB278Q both around $500
