The price to performance isn't there yet. People are just looking at the 1070 like a less expensive, warmed over 980 Ti (performance wise.) Problem is, you can find deals on 980 Ti at about the same price as a lot of the overpriced 1070s out there today. Nobody should be spending more than $500 for a 1070 (just my opinion.) I paid MSRP for my Founders Edition 1070s, only because they happened to be on the shelf, I was able to sell my TITAN X and waterblock to cover most of the cost of the two 1070s, and they didn't have the 1080 in stock.
The 1080 is so much faster than anything else that isn't overclocked to the gills, that's where all the activity is, at least for right now.
On another note, managed to improve my scores a little bit. From what I am seeing on the TITAN X forum, a 12,000 graphics score in Time Spy is respectable for 2-way SLI.
