Sent my bad overclocker gtx 1070 gamer x back and ordered a palit super jetstream, good move right? The super jetstream comes with 25+ mhz on the core over the oc mode of the msi card. I am hoping for a better chip this time around. I wanted to get a golden sample phoenix from gainward, but those are out of stock and the led rbg can't be modified.

Man i liked the look of the msi card, and it was a beefy and a solid build, sucks for me it had a terrible chip in it that wouldn't go over 1950mhz on the core, overclocked or not.

Wow yeah his overall score definitely stink. I am glad I built a whole new skylake rig to pair with my 1070.

Hey guys,

I'm having a hard time deciding which gtx 1070 to grab.

I'd like to make custom bios and put that puppy underwater in the near future and try to get the max performance out of it

I don't really have a budget but I want to get a good bang for the buck decision and right now I am between 2 gtx 1070 model.

Evga FTW at 609.99$  CAD
Asus Turbo at 539.99$ CAD

I know the asus won't really satisfied my "need' but damn it has a 70$ CAD reduction .-.

If you're going under water why not just get the cheapest one? They all OC the same AFAIK

What? He's pretty much right.

Definitely go with the cheaper one, so the Turbo. I doubt you'll be able to squeeze out that much more from the FTW to justify its initial cost.

Anyone here went with the Palit brand 1070s? I've been looking into them but can't seem to find any reviews or benchmarks really. Is Palit a reputable brand or should I forget it?

I have my eyes on the Palit Super Jetstream, priced at 479€, being the cheapest aftermarket card with non-blower cooler. It looks super slick, has a gigantic cooler and what I read from 980ti etc. reviews it seems like pretty much the same as "mainstream" brands. Anyone have anything to say?

E: Or the Gainward cards which seem like fairly the same? The Phoenix 'Golden Sample' is priced at 479€ also and sports the same specs pretty much, should I go with these as they'd respect my aesthetic theme or go with a 20€ more expensive card from mainstream brands?

Palit are actually the biggest brand in the world, they ship and sell alot more cards than asus and msi, they mainly sell in asia which is why they not so well known.

I have a palit 1070 gamerock premium, and its a great card, the cooler is a beast making it a 2.5 slot card, very quiet fans.

Also they bin their chips.

The overclocking potential pretty much depends on luck. I had the gtx 1070 msi gamer x and i can tell you that, that card wouldn't overclock at all on the core. As a matter of fact, aside from the OC mode the card came with, there was no additional overclocking possible on the core at all, no matter how high the powerlimit was or the vcore. Going for even a cheaper card, could also give him one that can't even pass 1900mhz.

Palit is actually a bigger brand than msi and asus, just less advertised. As for their gpu, they are top notch. As a matter of fact, their pascal cards, are the fastest, coolest and quietest out of all brands. Oh and it comes with a dual bios, in case of a failure, the card would remain functional. Added security level thumb.gif Something that could come in handy for modders.

Here is a review for the palit gamerock one,
https://www.computerbase.de/2016-06/palit-geforce-gtx-1070-gamerock-test/

I just sent my msi gamer x back and am replacing it with that gpu you are looking to buy. If you can wait till friday, i might be able to aid you. If you go for the msi one, which in my opinion actually looks physically pleasing, make sure that the black metal next to the outputs, isn't in your way to the screws. I had hard time tightening them.
