Palit made two series, the gamerock for gamers, and jetstream for overclockers. The jetstream comes with two additional vrms for better power delivery. You've got then the gamerock and the gamerock premium which comes with more factory overclock and boosts higher. There is also the normal jetstream and the super jetstream, the latter is also clocked higher. and naturally costs about 20 euros more here. Performance wise, they are all the same depending on your luck and how high your chip clocks. So just pick the one that suits your build color wise. I personally find the jetstream gray color more bad ass. Not into the hip blue look the gamerock offers.

Oh and don't forget about the gainward cards. Gainward is Palit. I recommend the super sample phoenix. Those cards are handpicked for overclocking, and i mean really handpicked. They test it them for overclocking potential. Cost the same btw. Well all i can say is pick your poison biggrin.gif

470 or so € ain't cheap.

I went from 1080p to 1440p, back to 1080p, now @ 4k, going back to 1080p 144hz tomorrow. This 4k monitor isn't mine, just using it till i fix my 1080p one. Why do you ask?

More on topic though, i'm returning my 1070 g1, and have an zotac amp extreme coming in tomorrow. Seems it stays a bit cooler, quieter, and most importantly the added 8 pin should let it hold higher boost clocks and generally be a bit more stable. I really loved my 970 g1 and its been a good 2 years with it, but gigabyte definitely cheaped out on the 1070 g1 a bit imho.

Wow seriously mine crashes at anything above +50mhz.

I think i have some kind of power problem.

In TPU's GTX 1070 SC review they mentioned that the card sometimes drawing even less power then the founders edition.

Quote from TPU: "I'm surprised EVGA has not adjusted the board's power limit, though, since it's still set at around 150 W, which is way too low for such a card and might cause Boost to reduce clocks earlier to keep power draw below the limit."

Because of this problem no matter what i do card hits "Pwr , VRel" as shown in GPU-Z this is happening when my power target is already set to %112.

I'm using custom fan curve in Valley i can only see 2ghz in first 5-10sec then it immidiately drops to 1950/70mhz or even lower.I tried %100 fan speed, voltage is already set to +100 but just no card just can't reach 2ghz stably.I set +50mhz to gpu anything higher then that like +10mhz more increment then Valley crashes. At this point i know that i don't have the best GTX1070 chip around here but i still think this is a power issue.

Is there any SC user here who can't set more then +50mhz like me?

The reason i'm asking is because i posted about it in the general GPU section and no one has still responded.

I'm in a weird position. Right now i have a Crossover 27Q monitor that only has DVI. I want to add a second monitor and i'd like for the resolutions to match so my 2nd would have to be 1440p. For that i was planning to buy a 1070. My problem is that non of the new gen cards that i've seen has two DVI ports. From this i need to buy something IPS and 1440p that has a DisplayPort and/or HDMI.

Those are the monitors i have my eye on since they have something other than DVI for inputs.

The reason i was asking about 1080p is I was throwing around the idea of downgrading from 1440p to 1080p. I can get something from Newegg (Asus, Acer, Samsung) that will probably be cheaper than the Korean IPS and PLS screens. I really do like the colors of my Crossover monitor but I could probably sacrifice that for an easier setup at 1080p. Also if i went down to 1080p i might be fine with a 1060 instead of a 1070.

Pay a little extra for that an enjoy 144hz 1440p, it has freesync if you ever went AMD, but i think that would be the best thing to do while not spending too much. Make it your main display and set the 27Q to the side.

Get a Strix. They are extremely quiet.

+1 on the 144hz refresh rate. Once you get a high refresh rate monitor its hard to go back. I would try to find a cheap used Gsync monitor though. There are a few in the marketplace here for sale.

Barring HDMI to DVI cables, how big is the 1080p monitor you're considering? At normal desk distance, I wouldn't consider a 1080p monitor over 24" in size. Pixels would bother me. However, at a distance of 6 to 8 ft. a 43" 1080p LCD is just fine for gaming. I wouldn't use it for productivity apps, after all, from that distance.
