So far, so good.

Do you guys think that increase the voltage to 100% can damage the card?

I mean, its pretty much impossible, since those increases are so small...even at + 100% the voltage will only be + 0.0290 V over stock voltage, that´s nothing at all.

From my experience increasing Core Voltage does literally nothing. Can someone correct me?

Overall, I'm quite happy with my Gigabyte GTX 970 FE. I have a curve of between +190 to +200 core clock. Memory is set to +600. This translates to core clock between 1970-2100(max), depending on a game, e.g. Overwatch is 2050 most of the time, W3 (B&W) is 1974-2020. Memory clock is 2300 (9200). Fan curve is modified so it maxes out at 65%/83c. This way card is pretty silent, about the same as my case fans set to 12V (inaudible with open headset). More than 70% was a bit noisy, 80%+ was closing to R9 290 reference level.

I only hope that custom bios will be available at some point, so we can disable GPU boost. I'm pretty sure I would be able to run something like constant 2080/70%/83c then.

When was the custom bios released in case of Maxwell cards?

Vcore = 100% (graphic card not stable)

Overclock based on BIOS OC DEFAULT MODE.

Core voltage: 0%
Power Limit: 126%
Temp Limit: 92
Core clock: +105
Mem Clock: +505

GPU Clock: 1712mhz @ 1902mhz boost
Mem Clock: 2280mhz

Shameless plug, but I am selling my second GTX 1070 that came in. The listing is here on the OCN marketplace. I am selling it @ MSRP (no markup, no BS)

Ok now we're on the right tracks.

I had the card running @ PCI-E x2 for some reason, as you can see from my first GPU-Z post few pages earlier.
Couldn't change the value no matter what I did, but swapping the card to different PCI-E slot did the trick. Now goes @ x16 3.0. thumb.gif

Well, I finally got my car sometime around 5pm ET today.

Unfortunately, I can't put it in my current rig because it won't fit. rolleyes.gif So I will hold off on entering the club for now, I guess.
But this card wasn't intended for my current build.

Main Q, are the MSI Gaming X just better binned cards or are you just paying the extra for the factory overclock? would hate find out I grabbed the lesser binned card to save $15 =/ (well mainly I didnt know there were Non-X versions, haha)

From what I've read. The non-x is just the renamed LE version. And the only difference is MSI doesn't pre overclock it. I believe the upcoming Gaming Z card is the new name for their Lightning card.

Gaming Z? awww that sounds awesome, especially when your name starts with the letter Z haha
Edit: LE? do you mean FE?

Really hoping this ends up like the 980ti, with so many variants but most can be modded to run like the other (hugely paraphrasing)

Well my MSI 1070 Non-X is in the packaging stage, I assume thats Newegg lingo for "we're on it...when it gets here" but could also be because its the weekend and the really do have it.
Do people still un-recommend SLI?
wondering if I should grab another one or wait for AMD's Vega or 1080ti.

I've always loved the x70 range, never understood the x80 when there's a Titan and then they introduced "Ti", even more reason to not grab a x80.
