[Official] NVIDIA GTX 1070 Owner's Club - Page 19

I was tired of waiting for the custom 1080s so i cancelled my order and picked up an MSI 1070 armor yesterday.

Seems i got a pretty decent chip. In Valley its stable at 2100 Mhz on the core and +450 on the memory.

For gaming (Overwatch) i have to dial back to 2062 Mhz or it will crash the driver. Here are some benchmarks at those clocks:

Firestrike Ultra
http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/12706575

Firestrike Extreme
http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/12706922

Valley (1440p ultra + 8x MSAA)
Score 2584

The cooler on this card looks puny, but it is very good as usual with MSI. Very effective and very silent.
I feel that this card is gonna fit my needs nicely for 1440p gaming, until the big chips are out.

The Problem with the 1070 founders editions cards is not the cooler per se, but the combination of a slightly insufficient cooler, that has not the vapor chambers like the 1080, with a low amount of power phases and a insufficient power delivery, which results in a inconsistent and constantly bouncing clock.

Hmmm i dont know, i would have thought that the armor cooler would be better, 71° Celsius is not that particularly well.

My Palit Jetstream 1070, for example (28° Ambient)

Is it really worth going for a custom AIB version like Gigabyte or ASUS ? OC and cooling wise. I can't find anything in stock here only FE editions. I really want to get this card this week. Awaiting recomandations.

?

If you're wondering if it's air cooled, then yes it is.. In any case, there's too many factors for the temp to be the same for every user. I've never used Palit, barely heard of them tbh.

Edit: I got the joke now.... lol. No, though. I have it in a closed case. (Phanteks enthoo evolv ATX tempered glass)

Hello guys, my Msi 1070 Gaming X arrived yesterday, here is my results in 3DMark and Unigine:

Firestrike - http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/12715985
Firestrike Ultra - http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/12715894

OC Profile (Standart Bios)

Core voltage +100
Power limit +110
Core clock +105
Memory clock +400
Custom fan curve

Temp is around 63-65° during tests, after 10 minutes of Firestrike Ultra stress test it's 67°.
Was really disapointed that there is no way to check ASIC quality, but I see that everyone here have really comparable results, so maybe that doesn't really matter?

Good temps and good scores. If it showed ASIC yours would be good, congrats!
