Pretty disappointed by 1070's overclocked performance.
A 980Τι overclocked at 1450-1500mhz easily beats an 1070 overclocked at 2050-2100mhz.
I can confirm that, but in real world gaming, you should not notice a difference.
Advantage goes to the 1070 for 8GB vs 6GB of VRAM. Also, SMP for VR. Last but not least, lower TDP (and less heat in the room.)
I can say I'm pleased with the reduction in heat coming from a voltage modded VBIOS on a TITAN X to 1070 SLI. I don't plan to stay with 1070s for even an entire year, but for now, it's a good lateral move. I wanted higher FPS in Project Cars, but I didn't want a second (used) TITAN X.
Same rig as sig, I had a TITAN X at 1484 MHz. 5930K overclocked to 4.2 GHz. Graphics score = 20555. Here is the link to the score: http://www.3dmark.com/fs/8656048
Now here's the score for a single GTX 1070 (again, same rig as sig.) 5930K overclocked to 4.0 GHz. Graphics score = 21903 Here is the link to the score: http://www.3dmark.com/fs/9219072

Yeah, granted I'm on a 1080 for 4K
. My second card is backordered, so I'm waiting for that. I was seeing some SLI support with my 970s and it was running pretty well, but that was at 2K. Are you using the official HB bridge for your SLI setup?
No HB bridge. I have EK blocks on the GPUs and the official bridge isn't supported. I might try the EVGA LED HB bridge (removing the outer shield so it will fit) or just wait for EK to release their own.
But that doesn't matter as much as the fact DOOM does not currently support SLI. That is true since it is still just an OpenGL title. Setting a profile to force alternate frame rendering is not a good workaround, and it runs better in Single GPU mode.
Until Vulkan support is available, and provided they include full multi-gpu support in the Vulkan patch, I won't bother.
I was just monkeying around to see if a 4K monitor would be worth it for various titles. I'm happy with my ROG Swift G-Sync 1440p/144 Hz.Edited by mypickaxe - 7/10/16 at 9:50am
