[Official] NVIDIA GTX 1070 Owner's Club - Page 66

First benchmark, stock on both 1070s. The single bridge is definitely holding me back. I will be going to Micro Center and Fry's to see if I can retrieve a HB SLI bridge. If not, I may just get an LED bridge.

And a pic of GPUZ. All the "yellow" in PerfCap means my SLI bridge is holding me back.

I can already hear my credit card screaming.

The LED bridge should work just fine. I am using a single LED bridge, not high bandwidth. I tested with the triple SLI ribbon bridge which came with my Asus motherboard, and see no difference in performance. You won't need a true HB bridge at 1080p or even 1440p even at 144 Hz. I've seen where it really starts to make a difference at 5K.

Advantage goes to the 1070 for 8GB vs 6GB of VRAM. Also, SMP for VR. Last but not least, lower TDP (and less heat in the room.)

I can say I'm pleased with the reduction in heat coming from a voltage modded VBIOS on a TITAN X to 1070 SLI. I don't plan to stay with 1070s for even an entire year, but for now, it's a good lateral move. I wanted higher FPS in Project Cars, but I didn't want a second (used) TITAN X.

Same rig as sig, I had a TITAN X at 1484 MHz. 5930K overclocked to 4.2 GHz. Graphics score = 20555. Here is the link to the score: http://www.3dmark.com/fs/8656048
Now here's the score for a single GTX 1070 (again, same rig as sig.) 5930K overclocked to 4.0 GHz. Graphics score = 21903 Here is the link to the score: http://www.3dmark.com/fs/9219072
No HB bridge. I have EK blocks on the GPUs and the official bridge isn't supported. I might try the EVGA LED HB bridge (removing the outer shield so it will fit) or just wait for EK to release their own.

Iam disappointed mate because i sell my 980ti and grab a 1070, because i read at reviews that the 1070 is as powerfull as a titanX!
Nah..Ok out of the box performance is good..Also has very low temps, barely pass 65C..But it has also a poor overclock performance.
This was my score with my 980ti@1500mhz with thw same setup(4790K)-->22600 graphics score

The 1070 have good performance out of the box, have low temps but also is a poor overclock performer..redface.gif

I understand, but I am not worried too much about it since I am running SLI for titles I care about. As far as a single GPU, yes it would be a bit disappointing, but you play games (I hope) and not just in it for benchmarks. For games where 6GB is not enough, the 8GB is going to come in handy of the next year or two.
Honestly, all of the games I can't currently max out at 4K (including AA, tess, HBAO, etc) support SLI. I'm pretty excited for SLI this time around biggrin.gif.

Saw some performace gains going from x8 x8 3.0 (single flexible bridge), to x16 x16 3.0 (dual SLI flexible bridge)

http://i.imgur.com/OelKPVf.png - this is what I'm running recently.

Clock stabilizes on 1924/0.9V. It might drop a step lower in 3dmark ultra, but in 1080p gaming it seems to be rock stable. Temp maxes at 74-75c with 60% fan speed.

With max. stable OC (+180, no curve clock as it blocks the power consumption limit increase) clock was jumping between ~1970-2020 (2088 max), depending on the game etc. and temperature was peaking at 82c with 65% fan speed.

What seems to be the average on memory clocks? I see quite a few people getting +700mhz and more but my MSI Gaming (non x) only manages +575 before driver crashing. I don't get any artifacts but I get driver crashes.

I guess you didn't realize that your 980ti @1500 was already more powerful than a Titan X.

TitanX oced its a bit faster than 980Τι oced.
A 980Τι can do1450-1500mhz , easilly with stock voltage.
The conclusion is that a 980ti@1450-1500mhz is faster than a 1070@2050-2100mhz.
My mistake, i sell my 980ti to buy a slower graphics card redface.gif

So no bites on the SLI bridges in this area. I actually just snagged an HB SLI bridge from Nvidia's site, but now I'm in talks with someone about buying my second card. If we can come to an agreement, I guess I'm sending that back.

Man, this entire thing has been a whirlwind! tongue.gif
