There's a STRIX 1080 bios out there with the core voltage bumped to 1.24v. Most people are talking about their cards not doing so well with the increased votlage, however almost every card out there has ONE 8 pin connector.

Well... the Zotac Amp Extreme - both 1070 and 1080 - have TWO 8 pin connectors, as well as much more phases. This promises cleaner power delivery. I am fully confident the Zotac cards would excel past any other cards with voltage increases.

I just need someone to crack a bios to unlock voltage. I wish I knew how to do it. I would just take my stock Amp Extreme bios and unlock the voltage.

UGH this is driving me nuts.

I think they're trying to save us from ourselves, who wants to blow up a card? More likely - protect their bottom line with the Ti / Titan P line when that gets here.

It's telling we haven't seen much on the Classified / K1ngp1n / Lightning GPUs for the 1080 line.

Well, after waiting all day FedEx finally dropped off my bundle of joy. Got it installed plugged in a quick +150/+500 in Afterburner and gave her a test drive in Valley.

After letting it loop for 30 minutes....

I'm looking forward to getting that Valley score over 100 my next day off. I think this card still has a lot of untapped potential. biggrin.gif

Looks like you are right, I have the same cpu to. I run it at 4.5, how about you. If you have time through in a Firestrike normal run

I am a paranoid noob at CPU overclocking. I just did the lazy mans 42 multi/save settings. Yes, I am ashamed tongue.gif

I don't have full Firestrike, only the demo installed I think.

Edit-64 man canals TDM in BF4, 1440, all settings ultra except MSAAx2 instead of x4, I was hitting 186fps. DEFINITELY time for a new monitor.

Did you clock the core up and then the memory? I was at +155/+575 and then clocked memory up first and was able to get +140/+750. Memory seems to make more of an impact than core clock.... this thing needs GDDR5X!

The memory clocks on these cards are amazing.

Just got my 1070 strix today. Haven't messed around too much but man was I impressed while playing overwatch on epic and the card was only clocked at 983mhz, 51c, fans not even spinning. Never dropped below 60fps. Unreal...

I'm gonna dive into overclocking and validating tomorrow but was wondering what you guys are using to OC. I usually use MSI afterburner but it seems with an Asus card it just gives me a voltage slider 0-100% and no fancy freq/volt tool like precision.
