Also what should I expect coming from an OC'd 970? I think 50% more fps? and for temp (my 970 reach 75°C on certain game)?

Your 1070 will be around 60-70*C in really heavy games. Think 50% more fps is a bit high tongue.gif But it's def better.

Meanwhile, 3Dmark struggles +115 on Coreclock.. Can't make that through Firestrike..

i noticed that since bought 1070 and whenever I try to overclock it

on valley unigine i can run very high clockspeed on core & memory stable

but on firestrike i got crashes/artifacts in benchmark or stress test loops.

i guess firetrike 3dmark is much more reliable. in witcher 3 i also got the same crashes as on the firestrike.

Check with GPU-Z if the card has Micron or Samsung memory. If it's Micron check BIOS version if it's the Micron bugfix BIOS.

Gaming X BIOS is solid. Upgrade to Gaming Z is possible for higher base clocks.

+50% FPS isn't far off I guess. On 1080p the 970 has 61% of the performance of a 1070 Gaming X. So yeah.

Temps? Expect 55-60c load on stock. OC to max volts & power with 2128 core and 4400 mem mine hits about 62c on 80% fanspeed which is very quiet still - only 2000rpm.

The other thing you should try is to increase your VCCIO voltage from the default of 1.05v to  somewhere between 1.1 and 1.2v, That solved anlines and squares artiface problem i had that was triggered by accelerated 2d canvas as used by chrome, with high mem oc after the update for me blue lines artifacts on the later bios

Hmm. Might be worth trying to trade it for a Samsung model (either X or Z, I don't really care for the RGB on the Z and the PCB is the same anyway).

I'm already running VCCIO on 1.15 and VCCSA on 1.05 because my 3770K has a terrible memory controller and needs this to even run 4 sticks on 2133 cl9.

VCCIO also does the PCIe controller as well as the memory controller. Maybe try it at 1.2 with a touch of extra SA voltage?

Firestrike is much harder on the hardware than heaven and valley. Timespy is even more brutal in a similar way to witcher 3

Hi all I have big concern about my 1070...
I have reference model with 4phases. Is it enough? Since the card taking around 160Wats in gaming stress (card alone)....
Or it's just my stupid concering.

I want to use it around 2 years 24h/7 with a little of stress (CUDA) all the time and a little of gaming part time...
I do not think they would make a card that would be designed to fail.

I have had reference cards last years of heavy gaming(not 24/7 mind you).
