Its all going back to amazon me thinks. Get a 30some 4k, n actually see whats going on in gpu town.

You water cool right?

If you can swing it with a full size desktop (or heck even some franken ITX build), the EK MSI Gaming X is a lot cheaper then a SLI gaming laptop (although a heck of a lot less portable).

That screen sounds amazing as a torture device. I wonder if Acer plans to make VR headsets. Strap something like that on somebody and tell them it's a carnival ride and you'd make a fortune. They could call it the acer pukador.

I really want to try again tips from @gtbk about vccio tricks to push the overclock GPU further thumb.gif. I have been hoping it works on mine frown.gif(

still stuck at 20,9K FS tongue.gif

I can get 21k+ but it rather would crash or get memory artifacts.

Question for you guys, I've been looking to upgrade my GTX 1070 (Gigabyte Gaming 1) for a GTX 1080. I'm playing at 1440p on a 60hz monitor. Someone offers me to swap his GTX 1080 FE with my card and asks for 75 usd to even values. Both our cards are around 6 months old.

Do you think it is a good deal?

Talk him down to 50 bucks and it'll be a fantastic deal. As it is it's a fair deal and should give you a healthy bump in performance.

Well "Live & Learn" . Whats messed up is a single FPS drop in SLI feels like a Frame Skip and its annoying as hell. Thanx for the help thumb.gif i'll keep trying but already regret getting this so called Beast rolleyes.gif

I know you have a laptop but didn't I suggest a 1080TI instead of sli 1070 because of the funkyness of sli about 1 month or so ago? happysmiley.gif

Now that you have it, GTA is only a single game and a single 1070 lets it run at a respectable rate anyway so I would not worry about it too much. I know that stutter problems have been solved by disabling the shader cache in other systems but that was not specifically an SLI fix, that also helped with stutters in single card systems as well.

Other games work OK out of the box. Some of the ones that don't can be tweaked and made work. Remember SLI has four different modes it can run in that you can change in the nvidia inspector. The best mode to use depends on the game engine and the way the card is coded. Did you try each of the different modes?

A GTX 1080 is not overkill for what I'm using it for? (1440p)

Well, as i said before i have a TitanXP build locked in storage and the only reason i got this Laptop is to be able to move it around in a single Backpack. I checked bunch of games and most work just fine with SLI and run @ 4K , GTAV is one of the favorites and it just pissed me off rolleyes.gif. Also changed options in NVIDIA Control Panel and played with Profile Inspector but i cant find any Modes in Nvidia Inspector other than Performance level 0-4 and mine is set to 4

yeah, this is in my STH10 - motherboard/chip/memory are under water at the moment.

I have a lenovo Y70 w/ 970m, a T460, & a 2017 shield pro TV, so I should be good on a laptop (as far as travel gaming goes) for awhile.

and yeah its a torture device. It's just amazing that its brighter than my old 3x 1080p VA panels... It's enjoy able when I attach my corsair keyboard & mouse lap tray, or use a controller, but working from my standard keyboard tray is annoying. I've already requested a return label, though I will continue to troubleshoot it this weekend before actually sending it back. I love the idea, but I should'a done my homework, and I don't even see G-sync doing a damn thing so idk. (yes i enabled it in the control panel)

i also jus realized its an acer product, not an asus product. LOL
