Have you run it without SLI? The tests I have seen with the 10 series aren't showing much async benefit in SLI.

Yes. The only difference is power delivery, PCB and cooler. Some have superficial features like fan connectors and BIOS switches but they're all essentially the same under the hood.

I feel like reminding those interested in the XOC Strix bios that the card that bios came from was a 1080, not a 1070. Pretty sure flashing a bios that supports gddr5x memory wouldnt be good for normal gddr5.

Is anyone able to crack open the bios and modify it yet, or are people just flashing other cards bios onto their card?

So close to 6000!
I have the Msi gtx 1070, and i've been trying to overclock it for hours now, and just no luck. I am using Afterburner 4.3 beta 4. I can hit 700+mhz on the memory but the core won't go beyond 50+mhz. Powerlimit is set to max 126% and i also tried the corevoltage at 100%. Anything above 50mhz just locks up and crashes. I tried also overclocking the core withouth the memory, and yet won't budge.

Any solutions? I can't be the only one with the ****tiest chip of all.

Oh and if i set the corevoltage to 100% and PL to 126% and core clock to +50mhz, the gpu also crashes. Is there something i should configure before overclocking this card?

I already used the latest DDU and checked the pci-e connectors.

PSU: Cosair RM750X gold edition. It powered an r9 290 pcs+ oc, so a 1070 shouldn't be a problem for it.

100% it's not your Power Supply.

Really sounds like you've got a bad chip. Just horrible luck really.

The PSU couldn't be the issue, but i had to mention, so people wouldn't give me the usual stuff, like check psu, uninstall/install drivers, use ddu, and so on.

But it really can't be possible that i would be the only guy, out of everyone that is on every forum overclocking his/her gpu and able to stay beyond 2ghz, to have an awful chip that can't go beyond 1936mhz.

Either MSI Afterburner/gpu-z and every other tool out there are bugged, and are reporting false frequencies, or Msi themselves handpicked this chip for me. This is some Illuminati BS.
