Looking to switch sides!!

Looking to ride the Intel/Nvidia ship for a while when I get my disability settlement. Since I have a lot of spare time on my time( waiting to go back to work) from my brain tumor removed at the first of last year. I am looking at getting a new pc. What do you guys think of this one:

Annihilator
MSI X99 SLI Plus Black Motherboard
Intel Core i7-5820K Processor
DDR4 3000MHz Corsair Dominator Platinum - 16GB
Corsair RM1000 Watt Power Supply
12X BD-RW Combo
2x NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 GPU
Onboard Audio
Western Digital Blue 1TB - 7200RPM 3.5" HDD
512GB m.2 Solid State
Blue Uni-Sleeved Cables (x2 Graphics Cards)
Premium Green LED Fans
Bitfenix Recon
Xidax Professional Quiet-Tech Sound Deadening
ZALMAN CNPS10X OPTIMA 120mm FSB (Fluid Shield Bearing)
Standard CPU Thermal Paste
Standard Graphics Card Thermal Paste
Windows 10 Home Premium 64-Bit
Xidax Gaming Shield - Virus & Malware Protection

I am open for input on all of it. I was going to order from Xidax since they have a lifetime parts warranty.

From what I know the GTX 1080's will not SLI very well. Not to mention a single one will give you more then enough power for any game. Will totally save you money there. (and electricity)

I also would recommend a western digital black. They are not too much more expensive, but they are all around better.

You could prolly downsize the PSU to 850w, even with the SLI setup. Without SLI, I would do a 650w (which still can SLI most cards)

Also, I am curious what you want to do with the PC? are you just gaming? are you doing any sort of video rendering? Because if you are not doing any hardcore rendering, I would get an i7 6700k, or even the 6600k. They are a bit better for the few threads that games need, and much cheaper too.

here is a i7-6700k kit,

You didn't say the price of the system from Xidax, but I don't really recommend buying pre-built rigs,as you are paying a very high price just for them to build it, and install their bloaty software that you would prolly uninstall anyway. Most all stores worth their salt (like newegg) have decent warranty packages, for much less. Another thing is with pre-builts, sometimes you are not even allowed to pop off the side panel. Which means you void the warranty if you want to upgrade, or even just want to clean out the computer. (which should be done a few times a year)

Take the money you save and get a new computer desk, chair, monitors, or whatever.

Thank you, that is the type of input I need.
I will be mostly gaming and the only thing I do with videos is transcoding and would be nice to do both at the same time. I have always built my computers except my first one 20 years ago.
