7xx, gt 7xx, or 950

Got an x99 system that needs a gpu, since there's no integrated graphics.

Between the gt 710/20/30/40, 750, 750ti, and 950 what's the better fit.

Requirement is that it can be had less than $100 used, and that it can run a 1440p desktop. (I believe all them can do 1600p)
Gaming wise my Monitor is 1440p so neither lol but if it can play some mmropgs at 1080p that would be cool

The 750ti will probably be the best deal, the 950 is the better card though. The lower gt 710,20,30,40 aren't worth the money, less capable than most integrated graphics. The straight 750 would also work if you're not gaming. Since you have an x99 system, I'm assuming you're doing some editing? If so, you may want the extra CUDA cores of the 950.

Edit:L 750 will work for most online MM games like League.

I do game, but my 980ti is having problems so I wanted a cheap card till the aftermarket 1080s come out

I'll probably see if I can find a used 950 for cheap.

By the time you by a 950, then the cost of an aftermarket 1080, you're pretty much at the price of the 1080 Founders Ed.

Probably will cost the same or more as a FE but it should cool better than the Founders And then the 950 goes to a family member who's on integrated graphics.

I'm not sure how it is in your area, but I've picked up used MSI gtx960s for $100 or less on Craigslist, might be worth a look?

That's a pretty good plan then. If the card is just temporary and going to a family member, you could look at some AMD cards. They have some pretty affordable options.
