Have not tested what watt am running from the wall socket. Just tested that In AIDA powers tab. Yeah the VRM is properly cooled. At the moment just using a corsair H105. Someone else got the same batch as my CPU and his one does the same thing.

I have wattmeter, and typically when AIDA isn't showing 10 W at full load, it shows correct numbers. Wonder about BW-E wattage at 4GHz.

This is the same situation as between 3820K and 4820K. I kinda like these low watts, but lack of overclocking...

At one point i was thinking of selling the i7 5820k and getting the i7 6700k. since i only game. Not sure if it is worth it for me.

5820K at 3.7-4 GHz is completely fine for gaming and would be for next 5 years. In fact 10nm would bring increase in number of cores, and decrease frequencies.

5820K will hold its value just fine.
Considering its a similar if not better performing CPU that costs less.

Now if they both were the same price range, then it would matter.

also gets a unique retail box compared to the other processors, in a sleek black with gold lettering. This combination of colors tends to go down well who loves gold, perhaps indicating that Intel is looking at a new kind of premium customer

What a bunch of rubbish, gold looks cool to everyone. Who writes this dribble?

If I see gold on a product or it's packaging I automatically move on to the next product. Gold is best left those those who are overly proud of their chest hair and feel the need to show it off to the world.... so yeah gold is probably a good pick for the 6950x.
