Any new High Refresh Rate monitors at Computex ? - Page 5

I was going to try and argue that higher refresh rate > higher resolution, but then I remembered that everyone has different tastes.

Bingo

As for the above stuff, people should remember that 1080p240 is the same amount of pixels as 4k60. It's not an absolutely outlandish thing to do, especially for games that are not super demanding and competitive games

yup but will require a devilishly fast cpu as well
I don't think a 5GHz 6700k with 4300 ram can even do that

Some games have a low enough demand on singlethreaded performance for it to be viable. I'm playing Overwatch and osu right now, both do it happily (overwatch almost all frames at 300fps cap, though not all.. osu at 1k+ fps)

Some other noncompetitive games do it at well while looking beautiful, eve online will run that well on max settings if you're not in an asteroid belt - it's an older game, but they do continually upgrade the graphics. I don't actually play a huge variety of games right now so i can't give many examples (mostly an MMO and competitive player)

I don't anticipate playing a bunch of games at locked 240+fps, but some will play there and many others are easy enough to float in the 100-200 range

Yes it's TN 2560x1440@165Hz with G-Sync

The 24'' TN panel is certainly interesting, wonder how displays will be priced.

http://www.panelook.com/M238DTN01.2_AUO_23.8_LCM_overview_27073.html

It is also listed as true 8-bit panel, like its bigger brother
123PPI and viewing angles should be better than the 27'' since it is smaller.
I hope AUO finally use a lighter AG coating, but I wouldn't get my hopes up tiredsmiley.gif

If the Dell ain't gonna use it - Acer, AOC and BenQ will sooner or later. The Acer variant is already listed on AMD's FreeSync monitor list.
~$510 for 2560x1440@144Hz without G-Sync
~$680 for 2560x1440@165Hz with G-Sync

Very interesting monitor but I'm sure it will be ruined by the use of a heavy matte coating yet again...ffs AUO make something thats semi glossy at least if not full gloss?

I have not read that thread for a while but when that monitor first came out people said it had a light coating. Then someone proved them wrong after buying one and comparing it to the ROG Swift. I dont really believe there is a light coating this time either.
