[VideoCardz] Rumour: AMD Radeon RX 480 specifications leaked - Page 12

IMO cut Vega10 on 1070 level or between 1070 and 1080

full vega 10 on 1080 or between 1080 & 1080Ti

full Vega 11 goes head to head with 1080Ti/Titan

If Polaris is anything to go by then Vega 10 is bigger than Vega 11

Although 250 dollars seems like a good deal and at the pricing this card needs to sell at, the gtx 1070 pricing definitely blindsided AMD. 250 dollars is not the the type of pricing you want to go for on finfet. Particularly when you consider this chip is bigger than pitcairns(which launched at 350) and comes with a whole lot more memory. Going from the information AMD released in January, I think AMD wanted to charge 300-330 dollars for this card. But the gtx 1070 pricing, for atleast the none founders edition, definitely made AMD margins thinner.

At this price, AMD margins are going to be terrible, particularly if this is the uncut chip. It's too the point where it will be difficult for AMD to give away a free game with the purchase of the card which is going to affect marketing.

Polaris 11 is going to have to be 100-130 dollar video card and with finfet, this is the type of pricing, that does make sense anymore for videocards to be in this range.

OEM's should like this card. But this lineup will need incredible volume to be profitable.

I don't think it matters if this card doesn't sell one dime, because AMD already won with all the deals they made behind-the-curtains. And I also think you're supremely under-estimating the mainstream market. The amount of lemmings who ditched their 980 Ti for a 10% performance upgrade should tell you exactly what's going to happen when something enters into the 200$ price range with 980/Fury performance

Oh well, how many hours left until we hopefully can stop with some of the performance speculation?

AMD naming scheme is based on release date, not size

I don't think we are going to get worthy performance information today.

Only 3rd party reviews can do that.

Yeah, but everyone knows AMD is hurting. They have no leverage negotiating those deals. It's simply a little cash flow to delay the inevitable sale or bankruptcy.

For this to work, AMD needs the PC gaming (3D PC gaming) market to expand, and I don't really think that's happening. The margins are good for PC Gaming hardware, but I just don't think the market is big enough to really help AMD quickly.

Yup, Raja revealed this to PCPer's Ryan Shroud.

If there is going to be a Polaris GPU that will go to market after Polaris 10/11, it's going to be named higher than that, whether it's faster vs 10 or not.
