AMD's marketshare would jump up around 25% by the end of the year.

But that's assuming the 1060 is several months out. NV could release that as soon as July, although unlikely.

It's already at 25%, it would be around 30% I'd be willing to guess

typical AMD style. looking at last gen cards to compare their current gen hardware to. never mind being last out the gate with new hardware when those other guys already blew past that old gen benchmark. sigh.

well, if that happens this price segment will see it's first price/performance leap in going on 4 years.

You're dissapointed that AMD didn't compare their new gpu to one that isn't available yet? Or to the only available gpu from current gen that's out that they aren't at all competing against? We're you dissapointed in nvidia comparing the 1080 to the 980? I don't understand...

It's not just last out of the gate. It's last at every thing performance.

They have turned there back on the enthusiast. AMD hasn't had one single bench mark crown in over 5 years. Not surprised.
Another Major Disappointment.

If true of these specs, $200 would be a good price. 250 tops for AIBs...

290x was clearly superior in every way to the 780 Ti which was priced 200$ ahead of it.

The Nvidia PR payed off some review sites during that time and look at that! 780 Ti is better! Look at benchmarks now, 780 Ti is getting handed it's hiney ever since 2014

It's great that AMD is lowering the cost of that level of performance, but it doesn't really do much for all of us sitting on 290/290X/780/780 Ti (and 7970 also) cards - people who are willing to pay enthusiast prices but haven't had a compelling upgrade path for the past two years.

If I wanted 980-level performance, I'd have bought a 980. Hopefully they have something above this $199 card, because it's a long wait for Vega.

Like anyone cares about benchmarks outside of here

If the $200 card is @980 level, I'd be inordinately surprised if they didn't have a faster 250-350 card.

yes, I am tired of seeing irrelevant comparisons on slides for new products. as for the 1080, does it not make sense to show how much your new product improves upon the one it is replacing in your product stack? of course it does genius, both companies do that.

well, the 7970 did beat the 680 clock for clock. they took out the Titan with the 290/290X. then the 780ti came out and got the crown back for nvidia. AMD hasn't gotten out in front since.
