[VideoCardz] AMD Radeon RX 480 to cost 199 USD - Page 122

Definitely like the sound of $229 better but $239 is still a far cry from the $299 speculation of a few weeks ago by certain posters. I'm definitely picking up at least one, maybe two to throw in my studio rig. It will be awkward if it ends up being faster than my main rig with Titans in it! redface.gif

Night Fury is my top of the line system. I won't put budget cards in it, even if my old premium cards end up getting beat. I'll probably get two Vegas or 1080Tis to replace the Titans (if I can ever stop spending money on my bike).

8GB is the way to go.

This card can and will benefit from 8GB of memory.

I wonder how much I can get for my 270X? If I got $100 a 480 would only cost me $130! tongue.gif

its quite possible to sell for 100 before the 460 launches, 90 if you have to charge a lot of shipping with it.

This is in fact what a real hard launch looks like! thumb.gif

So here are some prices for the RX 480 at microcenter

Serious question here, how many of you are actually excited for this launch? How many of you think this is rather meh?

I paid $240 after rebate on 5/11/15 for my R9 290. RX 480 so far is showing performance around the same levels and costs as much as I paid for my R9 290. The only benefit I would have gotten for waiting a full year is 4GB more VRAM and reduced power draw.

I just wanna see if there is any correlation to those who are excited and are using older/less powerful GPUs and those not excited who are using up-to-date enthusiast grade GPUs.
