$200 for 980Ti performance (comparable to 980 now, and 980Ti in a year with optimization lead... Lol) ain't bad, heck it is really good.

I guess this throws Nvidia's current and future pricing strategy/projections for a loop...lol I doubt that Nvidia expected AMD to come out with such an aggressive price/performance, considering how AMD just kind of followed Nvidia's lead for its Fury cards. I would guess that AMD's Polaris pricing also sets the tone for its "enthusiast" cards as well as Nvidia's enthusiast cards, when released... Lol

People know something big is coming. prices on used parts are starting to fall rapidly.

With the Die shrink, at 232mm at 14nm, the fully unlocked card is a failure if it doesn't beat the 390x IMHO..

It's been 3 years- AMD has already claimed it performs at 500$ level current-gen (980 and fury)
Wccftech

Not sure if the used market is too much of a indication of upcoming chip performance, but I do fall into the category of someone who has picked up a R9 390 used really cheap (cheaper then a new 380x) and as such won't be upgrading to anything that isn't at least 50% faster

Even if new 390's are 300 now and the 480 is 200 and performs the same, that's a pretty big shift in performance/$

Great value! This is where the meat of the market is. Well done, AMD.

560ti was ancient, and involved new technology die fabrication process was a lot larger so costs were increased too, smaller die fabrication reduces costs dramatically. Smaller dies more dies per silicon. You can literally put out twice the amount of chips at 14nm than you can at 28nm, you can put out almost three times as much chips as the 560ti was produced on.

AMD was printing out 290 chips like rabbits mating.

Is the C7 is infact the RX480, and its going to be about 200ish, those CX numbers are incredibly impressive. Almost 1080 results for 400sh, and thats on early drivers.

Could we have another 6850 on our hands? Two 6850s beat out a GTX580 in more benchmarks back in the day.

Most rather not deal with CrossFire/SLI. The struggle of CF / SLI has been a constant issue that people deal with.

I dont trust nvidia with what they did with Kepler and Maxwell 1.0/2.0. The 6 and 7 series have now been moved to legacy status

Don't congratulate them yet. We need some numbers first!
