AMD is not even in the sentence, plus my post above has already explained it. I was talking about $500 a pop distributor marked up prices in my country.

The whole money around thing is your deal and you shouldn't exploit it because someone could get into some serious trouble.

Woah if you put it that way,.. it is kind of risky, i don't want to run afoul of the law. I might look to Amazon or Newegg for that matter.thumb.gif But thanks for the headsup though. Mucho appreciated

Depends on the country too. Some gifts are still charged. I send my GF like $100 of stuffs and she's in Thailand for her BD and Christmas. You're safest buying a 480 this way from a friend, you've got more to lose the more expensive it is. I once sent her like $300 worth of stuff marked it as $50 and it made it fine, I'm not trying to cheat a system it just seems stupid to pay a double standard on a romantic gesture and I probably would've just bought a different gift if it got lost.

Tech as a whole is pretty generally expensive here and i want to stretch every penny of my hard earned money for tangible performance

Hope you can at least see it from my point of view.

You're blaming currency although it also means the 390 was expensive there too. You're acting like the 390 was a bargain but the 480 is going to be overpriced.

There is no difference between someone in the US upgrading from an R9 390 to an RX 480, and you doing it in your country.

$500 a pop is pretty steep which must be what you paid for your R9 390, possibly you paid more than that. That is blatantly obvious if the 480 is going to be $500 there.

when you need 3 billion mhz to compete with a 980

Yea? Well, get in line! Short of disastrous reviews, I will probably snag one too!
That's honestly my main concern.

IF this card delivers on the hype and you haven't preordered, I predict a complete lack of supply for months.

Let's just hope you can't mine any crypto's on these cards, otherwise we'll have another 290/79xx fiasco

Even if there is small profit people will still buy them for mining. I think AMD can easily hinder performance with drivers.

I take it the stock won't be available for purchase until October? That seems like a long time to hold onto inventory.
