Low performance/FPS on GTX 970 - Overwatch/LoL etc

Thread Starter
So I just updated to the latest drivers(I had this issue before hand too) and I'm having some pretty low fps in overwatch in what I thought I'd be able to hit 144fps in.

Here are some screens of my in game settings:

BTW I also tried AA off, didn't make anything better.

What do you guys think? Is my CPU just too old? Should I try a fresh install of my drivers?

Not only in this game, but also in games like League of Legends which I should be blasting through, my fps sometimes drops to below 100 in heavy teamfights(Ultra settings).

you might want to go through your Nvidia Driver 3d settings, recent drivers have added "optimal" power setting.

games in general will perform best with max performance preferred.

I wouldn't say your CPU would be too old, might be a little slow in stock config, give it a bit of an overclock and it shouldn't be any issue

The CPU is definitely not the issue, I had pretty much the same setup(if not worse) not too long ago and I didn't have any performance issues.

OC your 2700k and upgrade ram to 2133 to increase your CPU performance.
I play on Epic settings which I get 60+fps constantly and drops to 52fps with lots of action.
