When I saw the expected selling price of these new cards it's one of the first things I thought about, sounds like they will be good cards for the job.

Ethereum estimated ROI 2.5 month with RX 480.

I make around $ 50 per HD 7950 per month after expenses. I have a mate with around 100 cards mining at the moment, he's turning over a gross of about $ 140 per day (I'd ESTIMATE a net profit of around $ 3,000 per month).

Ethereum at the moment. I first started with Bitcoin when it was insanely easy to mine on graphics cards during the first year or so, I had a few HD 5xxx series cards. I sold way too soon though, I came away with around $ 1,000 after ROI but had I waited until coins were around $ 1,000 each... Let's just say I would not have had to work a day in my life, neither would my children.

After that I moved to Litecoin with HD 7xxxx series cards which I'm still running - I did Feathercoin, Darkcoin, Dogecoin, and several others which I just dabbled with until they popped.

I sold all my mining stuff after LTC went ASIC only and bought my 290x with the profit. Still have my 110 coins waiting for another $50 bubble. I did not know there was still profit in GPU mining with a coin worth anything.

To bring this rabbit trail back around to on topic, I can imagine the low power draw of the 480 will make any GPU miners pee their pants. I really hope we do not get another price inflation like we saw when the 290 launched with newegg's pricing algorithm pushing them up to $800. The point of the 480 is the great low cost.

I will make sure to buy every single RX 480 that I can afford.

(I'm broke so I can only buy 5 to 10 max)

I think AMD knows this and will not allow anyone for mining.

Yes they do. After driver 16.2 mining performance dropped. For example 2 x 290X get ~ 66 MH/s , With new drivers 40 MH/s.

A lot of people just do not seem to understand how mining works. They look at how things are now and think they will got the money back. For example RX 480 might take 2.5 Months right now but In June 29th it will be 3-3.5 months. As you mine the keep increasing. Might end up 5-6 months before you pay for the card. That does not include the system, electricity, effort, price of the coin. Basically these people that go out and buy GPUs for mining this late in the game kill it for the gamers and AMD in the end.

Highly doubt AMD would cripple their cards compute ability like the other guys.
