I would say a used 980ti is the best card on the market now.

Also I dont get the entry vr, no one wants to buy a an entry card for a £699 vr device and only get acceptable frames. Anyone adopting vr right now will have a banging rig let's face it. This is basically a 390?(if performance seems right) for $199 a few years later.

I mean we collectively slammed nvidia for marketing their new cards as stronger in vr here just a few weeks ago.

The heck?!
Are they saying that R9 480 is half the performance of GTX 1080?
Or whats the beef with 50% GPU utilization?

Based on practical experience I have with product launches I say you are wong.
AMD design Polarist 10 is such a way that allowed them to price it at 200$.
You are a customer so you should not concern yourself with how much money AMD makes with each GPU or you are just trying to find negative points regarding AMD?

Also it makes no sense for custom designs to cost twice as much. What for? the 480 doesn't need fancy cooling.
I bet even the reference cooler is more than enough.

This is a really silly post.

Twice as much for AIB cards? lol.

Good chip. Delidded. It can go fine in prime with slightly lower voltage, but with gaming, gpus being all on same loop, extra heat needs a little more voltage.

looks like I can upgrade this from 750ti without breaking the bank.

I sold mine for 300 3 weeks ago hehe smile.gif

Guess I'll be getting this instead, unless there is something thats worth 300 and be at 1070 level of performance.

The rationalizations I've seen in the last 12 hrs makes it clear that AMD RDF is just as powerful as Apple's. At least on OCN anyway:p

I have no interest in a Xfire solution either - can't believe that's what Raja brought out his cigar for in Macau rofl.

Either AMD is sandbagging on that $300 SKU, or they really have no answer for the 1070. AMD has a tiny window to show something.
*After the AIB 1070s are released and before the June 29 reveal:p
