Odd that AMD provided no single RX480 benchmarks though.

They likely didn't do a single card because they wanted to focus on the 1080 FE launching at $700 (699.99).

I don't really think you'd see the 1080 at 98% because the cpu had issues with two 480's. When he was showing that he did mention working on the drivers for Polaris. He worded it oddly... but more or less if you see that kind of performance at 51% versus 98%... If they actually had the Xfire working correctly the performance should be even higher.

Then again they would have to fix Xfire first....

For something that's a month+ out you probably don't want to give your ruthless competition a fixed target to aim for or risk it with a paper launch.

The fact is its only 51% and it beat 1080? Hmmm... I cannot imagine what happen when it hit 100%.

Either way the CF benchmark showing 28.7K Graphic just show it already faster than 1080 by 5%. All for 66% the price. Way to go AMD.

Shipping manifests for GP106 have been spotted, so if that ends up being GTX 1060 then we're looking at a three month time frame.

In a sense, yes. From what I understand, has much less CPU overhead than previous archs, so it's possible that it's running at 51% utilisation because the game can't give it a heavier workload, and the CPU has much less work in terms of scheduling stuff to be done on the GPU because it sorts itself out.

I don't know what would ocn users do without you around, you are a lifesaver.

Yeah but who cares about 970/980 now?

being 390X/980 level will not let a 480 compete directly with 1070 or 980Ti in any way, only in p/p
well Im prepared to pay some more for 20%, sure

and it isnt going to be twice, because that kind of performance will only at best come from the $250-300 P10 version, not from the $199 4GB one ... 4GB, come on, its good value for 200 bucks, but lets not starting putting it up against 1070/980Ti now redface.gif

Great point... so get two 480x's (2 x $250) and still be cheaper than a 1080 or a 1070...!

Right..?

Neither of you are understanding that graph. It is showing how it can maintain high FPS, while not using all of the system resources. There is most likely a new Xfire bus.

Crossfire works over PCI-E just like Fury
