tek syndicate Liars!

It was just a few months ago people on the forums where calling them out (Gamers Nexus) for how they tested the FX 9590 wrong and how they where biased towards intel CPUs
Also the "unfavorable" they where towards AMD Fiji

God you people should make a review channel on YouTube yourself and see how others will view your "objective opinion."

Hmm, you people? lachen.gif If you want to lump me in with a bunch of internet trolls who hate people based on what products they like or don't then go ahead.. You want me to label you based on what a bunch NV trolls have said? Don't be ridiculous..

You've obviously missed the point i was making about GN during your little rant. Most of these "tech journalists" hardly put any work in, at this point most of them may as well just read straight from Nvidias/AMDs marketing slides.. I have nothing against any of them personally, all of us have to pay the bills. I also have never said it's about the channels/sites that are NV "biased", i feel the same way about all of them who aren't honest and who don't put the consumers (you know the ones who drop their hard earned money on products while the reviewers get given them for free) first.

It's easy to spot the disingenuous ones, they always end up contradicting themselves and looking like morons, not because they are morons, but because they had an agenda.

PCPer - put a lot of work into what they do, even if i may disagree with one thing or the other (which is my right to).
LTT - make entertaining videos but don't have near the knowledege of some of the smaller channels, and again their "reviews" are mostly recaps of an IHV's conference. But i enjoy their content.
Tek - Again, similar to LTT but give more detail.
Jay2Cents - I've spoke about enough.

Don't know where you pulled all that rubbish about me from but carry on. thumb.gif

So, looking at things right now, and given what we know about the RX 480, is Ellesmere a die shrunk version of Hawaii? I think it could be.

The R9 390 is 5.8 TFLOPs, while the RX 480 is about 5 TFLOPs or faster, depending on who you talk to. 36 compute units and 64 ROPs sounds like a cut-down Hawaii chip, and 40 CUs with a die shrink and a clock speed boost would easily yield GTX 980 Ti-like performance (if not beat it soundly and eat its children for breakfast).

If the rumored RX 490 is $299, NVIDIA might have to drop the price of the GTX 1070 early into the card's life cycle, but not too early to annoy their partners and customers.

Yeah and I don't think the 780 is technically VR ready unless you do some substantial overclocking.

Honestly these days no one, all because they have so many sponsors that they rely on free gifts (well revenue to keep them going) that they will be biased for that review/video until another product comes to review. Linus honestly is the closest to being Switzerland/Neutral

I can't bealive how nobody that has talked about RX 480 has mentioned the architecture improvements. You can't compare 5Tflops of RX 480 to that of R9 390.

This is why I ignored all the discussion of how fast it potentially is when everyone uses FLOPS. You just cant compare FLOPS across architectures.

FLOPS is a measure of absolute performance where in a load 100% of the resources are in use 100% of the time. Most games and other consumer software can't do that. Some architectures are better than others at keeping the cores fed and in use, which is why some architectures have a better per-core performance than others.

Well GCN 1.4 or 4.0, will and can beat Fury X performance. We all just have to wait for proper RX480 benchmarks

I can't talk about those because I wasn't in the Macau briefing, so I'm trying to find like-for-like comparisons based on what AMD's released in the past.

If I knew even one thing about the revised scheduler, or the shader arrangements, or how the display engine has changed, I'd be able to offer up a more educated analysis, but no-one outside of AMD or the journalists at the Macau event knows anything.
