It's not a gift if you need to perform an act to receive that gift. Then it is considered income, and therefore taxable must be reported as income when taxes are filed. Look up the IRS' definition of gift for more information on this topic.

I meant to say "compute core count and shader arrangement". It's been a long week, and my brain is quite tired.

I'll go amend my post now. Thanks for pointing that out.

None of them if you are to believe what people here has to say.

Again with "you guys", "you people", etc. If you quote me directly then address things relevant to me, quit putting words in my mouth and assuming what i have and haven't said..

I've only been negative towards reviewers who are being disingenuous.

For someone defending Jayz2Cents so much you ironically agreed with me, this is what you said about him in case you forgot..

Yes + rx 480 have 5.8Tflos thats only 1% bellow 390x.If they can reach peak teraflops better(I am 100% sure they will because GCN 4.0 is HUGE step forward) then rx 480 will have pretty good performance.it will be for sure faster than 390x

2304SP at 1260Mhz is 5.8Tflops btw not 5 and not 5.5

For comparison GTX980 have 5TF and 390x 5.9TF and GTX970 3.9TF

Because it's likely.
Comparing a crossfire RX480 to a much higher tier, and winning the bang-4-the-buck is nothing we haven't seen before.
And they're using AotS. How convenient.
I'm not saying this is not good, but is it THAT special?

Or whats the beef with 50% GPU utilization?

Either way the CF benchmark showing 28.7K Graphic just show it already faster than 1080 by 5%. All for 66% the price. Way to go AMD.

Framerate capped on purpose. DX12 and crossfire is new,you can even crossfire with nvidia gpu if app supported.

Wrong again. AMD has been saying they are aiming for mainstream with first Polaris gpu's since last year. Try again.

OC vs OC it has been demolishing the fury x. And AIB 980 Tis have been consistently faster than the fury x..

The only leverage the fury x ever really had was in either specific AMD sponsored games, or in a couple of DX12 games where they have also been heavily involved in the development.

Well,here is the same reviewer,same game @1440p

You people have issues with reviewers, again if you do why not start up your own channel and "educate" the masses?

"suite your own preference" not at all, but seems to be happening a lot as of late on these forums.

AMD were not saying a thing about Polaris in 2015, try again. Also, no, framerate was not capped, you can quit making up excuses considering AMD's marketing guy already explained everything there is to explain.

I'm also under this impression, it would be of no surprise to me if the Polaris failed validation rumor had some validity to it literally every other rumor was also proven true. The RX 480 most likely disables the problem spots of the die resulting in a usable product. We may never see a full 40 CU p10 if this rumor is true

That's like saying that we may never see a fully enabled Fermi chip, which some people did, and then later that year we got the GTX 580.

Let's wait and see. There are a lot of rumours and unconfirmed informations going around.

A discussion forum is also a means to voice an opinion.

Besides, don't put everybody in the same bag.

Some people just take everything with a critical mind, which is how it should be when you're a consumer trying to decide where to spend your money and not somebody else's.

What did I miss about reviewers and bias? Seems this thread exploded in some way.

Actually, my first briefing for Polaris specifically was in November 2015. AMD had talked to the investment community about Polaris (quarterly earnings calls) well before that.

After reading a few posts in this thread, I went over all my notes last night and I can't find any reference to Polaris being anything but a mainstream desktop / notebook facing architecture. Take that as you will but from very early on AMD was tempering expectations. thumb.gif

I'm just being dickish about it because a lot of people on the forums are very negative towards these youtubers bringing information to the community. Not only that I would expect the avg OCN member to be little above what most tech reviewers on youtube have to say/savvy enough to weed out the bull and take in the rest as entertainment.
Also if they feel as if they could actually get their "objective opinion" about products out better, why not give it a shot. Because i highly doubt people will view the way you think they would. IE Cult of Mush.
