Help with Alphacool HardTube (Black Chrome)

Hey there. I'm working on my first custom water cooling loop, and I would like some advice/help with the following rigid tubing: http://www.performance-pcs.com/alphacool-hardtube-13-10mm-90-brass-black-chrome-10-50cm.html. I'm not really a fan of the HT fittings that they offer/recommend for their rigid tubing, http://www.performance-pcs.com/alphacool-ht-12mm-hardtube-compression-fitting-g1-4-for-plexi-brass-tubes-rigid-or-hard-knurled-deep-black.html, and would much rather prefer to use Primochill or Bitspower compression fittings if I can find them in a 13mm size.

My question(s) are:

1) Has anyone used the hard plated Alphachool tubing that I linked? I know that they're very heavy for rigid tubing which could potentially cause an issue later down the line should they damage/loosen the fittings over time.

2) Would I be able to use an off-brand for the fittings? Like say Primochill or Bitspower branded fittings? I'm really not a fan of the Alphacool HT fittings. The only positive they have is the additional inner o-ring that I suppose helps hold the heavy, nickel plated, tubing better.

3) Does anyone have recommendations for similar, black/dark, rigid tubing?

This will be my first custom loop, but I've been researching for months and I'm not daunted by how complex this is turning out to be. I'd much rather spend the time, as well as the extra money, and invest in quality parts. I invested too much into my PC and watercooling parts thus far to skimp out now.

I believe dazmode has a video on that tubing, and he was unable to bend it.

I've been looking for the video on his channel, but I don't plan on doing any bending if I were to order Alphacool's black chrome plated tubing. You can't bend tubing that is already plated without doing severe damage.

After doing some research, I think I'm just going to go with some traditional copper tubing. Once I have my bends, I may send the pieces somewhere to be plated, like this person did: http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=204450&page=8. And with nickel plating: http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=204450&page=13.

Pretty much all of my parts are black, so a copper/black theme will look nice. I'll post a build log here shortly.

Thanks for the reply btw. bonjeursmiley.png
