In summary, the single GPU RX 480 gets 62.5/1.83 = 34.1 FPS at 1080p Crazy + 8X MSAA, these are official statements from AMD. My R9 290 gets 34.0 at the same settings. There's no BS here, no faking, nothing suspicious, just a like for like comparison between the R9 290 and RX 480 in AotS.

just show me yours RX 480

I think RX 480 smaller chip will be as fast as R9 390X.

With a statement like that, you have forgotten that pc gaming isn't 100% of gaming. The GCN arch isn't even ahead of its time -- we don't even know what that means (raytracing and next-gen vector graphics maybe?). GCN is very relevant right now on all consoles, where its potential is vastly exploited to get graphics quality that can match and surpass PC quality. On PC, we are hamstrung by being a 2nd-hand gaming market, running mostly NVidia hardware that cannot reproduce the console hardware exploits, thus leading to these crappy ports with issues everywhere. And one solution we have is to throw money at the guy who is brute forcing it. I wouldn't call that solution an enthusiast one.

Well, you think so despite being presented with words of both AMD rep about mGPU scaling (that indicates single GPU fps, FYI) AND actual evidence.

@Pyrotagonist did you run a bench a few times? IIRC AotS has ridiculous run-to-run variance?
As I talked about previously, in games like AoTS where GCN hardware is exploited well, we should see a pretty good correlation between TFLOPS performance and actual performance. The hardware is actually being utilized, as evidenced by the Fury X sitting near the 1080 exactly where you would expect it would assuming both had the same TFLOPS/perf. In most games however where utilization is quite crappy with current solutions, we should see a pretty decent improvement.

Should being the key word.

If it's faster than my 290X @ 1200MHz after OC I am getting it. Really need something for Witcher 3 4K. Do not wan to spend $500 CAD doe GTX1070 sadly because I need something faster than it.

I am sort of considering getting 2 if the power consumption is low enough, and if it's close to fury performance.
Sorry AMD

AMD_Robert confirmed that the crossfire result is 83% faster than the single GPU result, so that's 34.1 FPS at 1080p Crazy settings + 8X MSAA.

I also get 39.4 FPS at 1440p extreme, while the 480 gets 40.0 FPS. In total, the 480 is less than 2% faster in either test.

I can only hope that the performance/arch improvements prove useful in other games.

The first major flaw in your test is that you are running a completely different CPU. The second flaw is to assume a linear progression of fps based on GPU scaling in explicit multi-adapter.

For example here is a dual 390X running on an i7-5820K 3.30GHz at 1080p Crazy at 59.4 fps, and the same person with a single card running it at 38.4 fps. Here's the same dual 390X running 1080p Crazy with x8 MSAA at 58.9 fps.

The first flaw is negated because his screen clearly states that he is GPU bound.

Second flaw is not a flaw. Robert himself stated 1.83x figure, and as such 34 fps for single rx480 on those settings is basically direct implication of his words.

Last one: your link does not show that those are 390Xs and uses fairly old version of game (at this point).
