Quote:
“Oh my gosh, we’re missing so much,” he said. “First of all, VR displays are a little too cumbersome. It has to be much more elegant, being connected by a wire has to be solved. The resolution has to be a lot higher. The physical worlds do not behave according to the laws of physics. The environment you’re in isn’t beautiful enough. We’re going to be solving this problem for the next 20 years.”

He added: “Having 20 years for employment is a good thing.”

His comments won’t surprise many people who’ve used VR so far, but what’s interesting is how little interest in actually solving this side of the problem the CEO expressed.

perfect timing for them since the entry point became $199 instead of $699. now they can make it look like disinterest instead of a loss. they seemed really excited for VR at their 1080 party, all the graphs were from VR stuff.

Yup, even paying celebrity's to play VR titles on their hardware.. And making it one of the biggest talking points at their conference. rolleyes.gif Lol, won't be long now before he downplay's Doom too. "Vulkan is overrated".

Wait, who honestly thought that VR was going to be a perfect replica of the physical world any time within our lifetime?

Sweet Jeebus what is this guy smoking?

It's true that we are many years until we have good VR but even their presentation was about how good VR is.

exactly. but they'll be outsold 5 to 1 for VR gaming by the majority of customers now so they brush it off.

Are they for real? First they gloat how awesome 10xx is for VR and then the moment AMD announces their mainstream cards they start downplaying VR lol
Marketing goat at it's best, make up your gorram mind Nvidia.

Well I'm sure Nvidia didnt want to price the GTX1060 @ $200. It will be interesting to see if they do.
