EK D5 PWM Pump isntallation Noob question

Hi guys,

I setup my first Watercooling rig and got a pretty simple question:

My D5 PWM Pumnp comes witha Molex and a PWM connector.

Do I have to plugin both or can I just use the PWM to a fan connection?

If I remember correctly, PWM allows you to control pump speed ( read: noise ) levels, while the molex powers it. So you would need both plugged in to take full advantage of PWM.

You can use this pump without connecting the PWM-header or use it on 3-pin header but it will run @ ~ 50% of nominal RPM. Same applies when the PWM signal of the MB-header doesn't fully applie with the PWM implementation of the pump.

K many thanks. Looks like I need to buy some SATA to Molex adapters...
